    @Cativelense

    A masterful ride in the rain yesterday for Oliveira in MotoGP. Rode smart for the first five laps to get a feel for grip and then made the pass and never looked back. After so many great Spanish riders, Portugal gets one of their own.

    I love my electric, I'll never go back. When it's super cold or windy I wrap a cheap welding blanket around it.

    Indeed! I had seen the results before I posted, but I didn't want to spoil it for you. He's the reason why I'll have to start watching it now for sure.

    I love the simplicity of the electric. Hoping that keeping it simple will allow me to learn what I am actually doing.

    I figured pulled pork would be an easier one to learn. Looking forward to learning brisket one day.

    Posted this on the memorial patch thread, but figured we're all in on this one too!

    I've never realized or put it to a complete thought, but I'm fairly certain that I drive this truck all over hell and back lovingly beating on it without a single worry, because of TW and the amazing people I've met. People like @Unchained 5150 @crashngiggles @CTSpruceMica @MikefromCT and so many more took us all in instantly, answered the dumb questions, pointed the way, and even took their own personal time to help us and it's something you don't find much today anywhere. So if there is any silver lining to this (100% selfishly)it's that the lost of Rick knocked me off my hamsters wheel and made me stop looking up my own ass and look around for answers to the things i may need help with, so thank you Rick again for helping me for the millionth time, God speed!

    Agree on the simplicity. For me, the repeatability is also key. That's difficult with wood or briquets. I keep a notebook of meat weight, time and temp. Now you need a probe thermometer with a remote display or phone app.

    I've cleaned the inside of mine with a pressure washer. Just stay away from the electronics on top and be sure it's completely dry before using it again.

    All great advice. Thanks man! Going to start a little notebook right now. I thought I had a nice probe thermo but I cant seem to find it, so ill be checking the temp with a regular thermometer closer to the end. Ill grab one of those probes before my next smoke.

    My mom kept the thing looking brand new. Ill be sure to do my best to keep it that way.

    Quick question on the probe. How do you route it into the smoker?

    I just run the wire(s) in through the door. I haven't had any noticeable leakage around the door gasket.

    Thanks Dennis! I appreciate all the information.

    I ended up finding the thermometer probe. Quickly got it all set up last time I added wood chips.
