Or... just sell it and get a Ferd :stirthepot:

I can absolutely, unequivocally guarantee that I will never have a lower control arm bushing or bolt fault, rust, etc on my Ford.

I never said there wouldn't be trade offs... but at least there won't be rust!

It's something with the door seals. Issue seems very hit or miss. I see some people on the Ferd forums having an issue with it, but I have not with any of mine and it lives outside. The door seals are sort of weird on the Ford, it's one of the things I'm not really thrilled with.

i've heard it's getting in through the door handle. he leaves one of the plugs out so it drains out when he opens the doors

I've considered it... But for now, I'm using Amsoil HDMP. It dries with a waxy finish so it doesn't collect dirt like FF. I do all my own work on my vehicles, I won't want a really gunky undercarriage, it just makes working on it that much worse.

Side note, any of you guys running the Nokian One tires on a passenger car? Considering it for my wife's Flex for her summer set.

I don't, but I did consider the One HT for my truck's summer set. I ended up with the Michelins just because the One is a pretty new tire and didn't have a lot of feedback yet while the LTX M/S was well established.

Anyone with a prinsu style rack.

Installing mine tonight. Going to the cheapo to get silicone. I think I have it pretty well figured out how to get it up and mounted. My plan is to put it up dtu and then take off one stand off at a time to seal it up, so silicone doesn't dry.

Then let it sit overnight. Hopefully that's enough time to dry? Then inspect and check tomorrow?

I plan to just take off the weather stripping for now. Not putting holes through it.

That's pretty much how I did mine except the weatherstripping. I punched holes in mine that wound up being slightly off and left waves in the weatherstripping. I'm going to remove it eventually, but haven't found that particular 'round tuit' yet. Just put a big ol' glob of silicone on top of the bolt holes and run the bolts down, don't overthink it.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
When I did my factory rack I just put a generous amount of silicone on the ends of the bolts and then just screwed them in so that the silicone would fill in any gaps before drying. It's been perfect since day one.

If you did that back in 2009, you might want to take them off, clean out the old silicone and reapply. Just like your camper roof, that stuff dries out overtime and can start to let water weep in.

True but no UV's are hitting it. Might be something to do this summer!

    Cool. Thanks gents. Plus Eammon.

Yeah that's my plan. I'm going to put it together and then take out one bolt at a time. Shoot some silicone into the threads and then around the base of the stand offs. I've seen a lot of people put the stand offs down first but I don't want to race against drying silicone.
