We average 60 gal. Per month. Plus 200 gal. In the summer for our trip to Colorado. This equals approximately 920 gals. Or $4200 yr. @ $4.50 avg. per gal. Which is what we are now paying. If we buy at Costco and use our Costco Visa we get 4% back. That comes out to approximately $165.00 cash back on the card. If you factor the cost of membership…$120, then your avg. savings is 5 cents a gal. Since we shop at Costco anyway, we get additional cash back for all other purchases. This year was a couple hundred bucks. So for us this makes sense. But this works only if you pay your balance off each month like we do. If you don’t the interest will erase any savings and then some.

We will also use our Kroger fuel points in a pinch…because let’s be honest, buying gas at Costco is often reminiscent of the lines of people waiting for gas during rationing in the 70’s

I try to buy my gas at either Sam's Club, my job has a membership, or Costco. The traffic coming out of Costco in the morning the past week or so tells me the lines must be very long. The price for regular gas at Costco today is $4.14 and the BP station near by is $4.29. Reminds me of prices when hurricane Katrina hit in 2005. Diesel is at $5.29 in the same area of NW Ga. Hold on with both hands and pucker up cause this ride is about to get really rough!!

I use iExit on my iPhone when I'm on the interstates. It's quite useful to look ahead at fuel prices for all the exits coming up, sortable by lowest and average price. Good for food and other things too. I use it more than I thought I would.

Look for this icon on the Apple or Android app stores.

Filled up yesterday, 3/20/22, morning at Costco, $3.65. So far gas prices haven't affected our driving. When you want to go dancing, you just go.

MD suspended there state tax of.038 cents per gallon for 30 days. I have noticed a lot of stations have not complied.

I switched to premium gas 4-5 months ago. There is enough difference in power, especially towing, to justify the expense. I'm getting about 1 mpg better. That doesn't completely offset the price difference but does ease the pain somewhat.

Locally the best thing I've done is just drive up to various stations and look at the pumps. Most places only post prices for regular, and I've discovered that there isn't much correlation between the lowest price for regular and the lowest prices for premium. I've figured out where I can get the best prices locally. That will be harder to do when traveling.

On average premium is about 50 cents/gallon more than regular. But often the places who advertise the best price for regular have their premium 60-70 cents/gallon more. By shopping around I'm finding the best prices for premium to be only about 30-40 cents/gallon more than I can find for the best prices for regular.

And FWIW advertised prices for regular have dropped significantly in the last 2-3 days. From about $4.25 to about $3.90. That is mostly because GA suspended the 18 cents/gallon gas tax. I paid $4.30 today for 93 octane premium.

I am another that's been using Getupside- for a little over a year. I get between 20$-30$ a month between myself and referrals. The cash back varies greatly from day to day and hour to hour... sometimes its 1 cent and an hour later its 25 cents. It's not a lot in todays world but its something. You can also use your Fry's points in the same transaction to save even more if you choose.

Ultimately the best way for me to save gas money is to ride the motorcycle more... picking up the kids directly after work since they stopped their bus route has made this difficult though.

March 23, 2022: Coeur d'Alene, Idaho $3.95; Richland, WA $4.45; Bend, OR $4.70, $5.50 diesel. Two weeks ago, Costco was $3.55 but today nearly every station is at $3.95. I'll be driving through western MT next week, and I can hardly wait for this pain.

I use a fuel company (with many stores/stations in Maine) rewards card linked to my checking account. $.10 off per gallon always. Every 50 gallons, another $.10 off. In-store purchases are $.05 off per gallon after $50.

Their prices aren't artificially high either. Generally about the same as others in the area.
