The Hakushu 12 is very good. If you like a scotch like taste. I'm drinking some right now. Pic is blurry, wonder what their asking? It was discontinued a year or two ago, due to running out of aged stock, however they recently had a limited release.

No offense, but I hate that song! When I was dating my other half and we'd listen to music, one of her favorite playlists had that song in it. It was a short list and it was her fav, so she played it often and those songs are burned into my mind.

    $103.99.

I’m not much of a scotch fan, I find the peaty flavor profile to be too aggressive for me.

I'm not a peat fan myself. There's many kinds of scotch that don't have any of that. Mostly, it's just the Islay that do. A good highland or lowland, aged in a sherry or oloroso or other barrel is awesome. Japanese follow the scotch profiles, so they have some peaty, some not. I will say, the Hakushu has a very light smoke/peat flavor. Just a hint. As someone who doesn't like peat, this one is really good. That's a really good price, considering the average retail. Google it and be shocked. It's become ridiculous.

    Edit to add the pic

I don’t care for that song either, I understand. I just thought it might be a little humorous, since I can’t add anything else to this topic.

    Just getting started.
Peerless, second shelf, fifth from the right. Looks like their Rye (green colored label) which is easily one of the better Rye's made right now. If it's their sweet mash bourbon (red colored label) even better.

Not to pile on, but both the Basil Hayden Dark Rye (top shelf in the middle) and Bookers Bourbon (second shelf behind the photoshopped shelf signage) are excellent. I can't see which High West expressions are on the bottom shelf, but they make some great whiskies.

Full disclaimer, I work with a lot of craft distilleries.

    Some interesting prices…
    I tried AE Rye for 10$ since I didn’t want to buy a whole bottle… and I’ll glad I didn’t.
Also had to get the WLW… I think I built it up too much in my head because I was not as big a fan as I thought I would be.

WLW is their best offering, but not at 30/pour. That’s silly.

I totally agree about the AE Rye. I bought a bottle and couldn't finish it. The prices seem out of whack - Weller Antique 107 and ORVW for the same $$? WA 107 can be had for $70-$110, while ORVW is in the $1200-$1300 range.
