Yeah I paid $82 shipped for the terminals (which included the compression lug) and the extra body ground. Now you’re looking at $170 plus shipping for all of that. Granted the terminal covers are included now with no way to opt out but still, those are only $35 on their own so you’re looking at $145 shipped for what I paid $82.

 

I think I'll make do with what Jeep provided. A winch may be the only thing to cause me issues.

Can't see how you could go wrong with those. Quality pieces those.

 

They look really nice. Even if you had to buy a hydraulic crimper to get all the wires setup you’re still spending less money than SDHQ and then you’ve got a crimper at the end of it.

 

Wouldn't need a hydraulic crimper as the largest gauge wire you ever need would be 1/0 and that can easily be done with a mechanical crimper for far less money...

True, I know a lot of us judge others on how their battery terminals look. Good point.

 

Not sure what mechanical crimper you’re using but I only have the little pliers that only go to 10 gauge. Can pick up a hydro crimper for about $40 from harbor freight.

 

It's the first thing I look at. If they look like crap I just cannot be their friend.

 

I have one that uses a hammer. Is that mechanical?

And yeah, I am comparing a quality crimper in both mechanical and hydraulic from someone like Greenlee or similar so the price difference would be much greater. But that is just the day job coming through...

 

Ohh that makes more sense. I was thinking of what Dave was talking about where you hammer the lug on. Not great for on vehicle wires.

 

I have those too. And the HF hydraulic versions. The hammer wasn't practical like you said. The hydraulic versions have an issue and won't release easily. And that brings me to the blue ones. I take wiring seriously.

 

Yeah, not a fan of that style at all. The ones like I linked make a good quality crimp very easily and do a decent job from the inexpensive ones. Obviously much better from the bigger name brands, but they carry a much larger price tag.

 

Well apparently not that serious Dave if you’re considering leaving those atrocious jeep terminals in place.
