My theory about WL's getting shafted with Void 3.0 was validated last night in Trials. No one... And I mean NO ONE running a WL was running Void. I even took my WL in for a little while and I played on my Arc build and surprisingly it's still a really strong build even against Void. One of those groups that I was talking about above I helped get to Flawless on my WL.

But... What you will see is Invis Hunters ruling PvP (myself included). I'd say that 80% of the people playing last night were running Hunters with 15% running Titan. 5% running WL on Solar or Arc. Hunters rule PvP right now with good reason. Hunters have almost exclusively ruled high end PvP from day one. And now that you can actually use Mobius Quiver and it actually does good damage? The question becomes... "Why the fuck would you not run it?".
I started taking my WL in the last few months just to change it up and see if I could go Flawless on that character. Seems I can with little effort. But I'd be lying if I said that it wasn't easier on my Hunter (especially right now).

I had started off using Suppression Grenades but quickly found out from others using them on me, they are not as effective as the Titan Suppression Grenades. They only remove your ability to use any of your abilities for a couple secs in PvP. Titan Suppression Grenade will blind you, take away everything on your screen, and knock you out of your super if active. Any Void Suppression Grenade will not do that. So they are not worth using. Vortex or Axion Bolt are really the only viable options unless you are good with Spike Grenades. Axion Bolts are amazing on a WL using Contraverse Hold but since no one is running Void on a WL... What's the use???

Finally... A group that doesn't leave when playing Trials.

People get worked up over playing in the Flawless pool or not. If I tried to play now? Most wouldn't let me play for the rest of the weekend since I've gone Flawless. The non Flawless pool starts tomorrow at noon. I find very little difference whether you've gone Flawless or not. It's all about the same to me.

Second boss encounter of the raid. This is the most atmospheric raid they have ever put out and the mechanics are on point.

Everything has to be done extremely fast and everyone has a job to do. If one person goes down? It there is very little room to regroup to get it done.

Well, destiny sucked me back in. Doing raid and masters at this point. Took 2 years off, this expansion is definitely their best yet.

    Happy grinding!!

I have to agree with you. I "personally" think this is the best expansion that Bungie has ever released in the history of Destiny. I know last season was a long season and other than grinding for god rolled weapons? That was about the only thing left to do unless you play PvP as much as I do. But I'm glad they pushed back the expansion to polish it up. Sure there are a few bugs and things that need to be looked at. But for a live service game? Bungie has gotten pretty good about adjusting things in the game.

When they released VoG last season it was released with just enough new mechanics to make it fresh and also bring back the nostalgia. My "guess" is they will reprise Kings Fall (at least that is my hope) since this is pretty much a Hive themed expansion. RotM doesn't fit the narrative for this season. Oryx does. So I hope they bring back Kings Fall as that was probably my favorite raid looking back through all the years. That was one raid I never got tired of running.

Hell... I even made videos of Kings Fall it was so good.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBk9rihi7E4

Saying all of that... I also quit Destiny for over a year after this night. This was the fourth time in a row that I got a Lucky Raspberry out of the final chest of the Last Wish raid. I was sick of RNG. I still don't have 1k Voices and I never will unless they decide to put it into the kiosk. I refuse to run it again even though the raid was great. It just pissed me off so much that I wanted nothing more than for Bungie to completely fail and burn to the ground. This was also after grinding out the Redrix Claymore when Comp completely sucked with no radar. But it felt like an accomplishment. But when they started giving them out like candy when it changed to the Redrix Broadsword? I was done. Hell... I'm even using the Claymore in this video.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDKYo-ZXniY

But... When everyone talked me back into the game, I had a lot of catching up to do. There were all the pinnacle weapons to chase in PvP. Recluse, Mountaintop, Revoker, Luna's Howl, and Not Forgotten? Yeah... that was enough to keep me occupied. I hate that they took away pinnacle weapons. I realize that not everyone likes PvP but there should be a payoff for hitting 5500. Now? I just play Comp to stay in practice for Trials. Trials is probably my favorite thing about Destiny and always has been (Trials of the Nine being the exception). I loved Trials in D1 and if it weren't for Trials I would have quit. Trials was released with Prison of Elders which completely sucked. But Trials was the redeeming factor to that expansion. When it finally came back in its original form in D2? I have only missed one weekend going Flawless. Even though I have every conceivable weapon and armor piece out of Trials, I don't play it for the loot. I play it because it is the only hyper competitive mode in the game. Besides... there is a little satisfaction with having the most exclusive (earnable) ship and sparrow in the game and rocking the armor glow each week.

Got my 4 wins in a row for the Gilded Unbroken Title. Started from 0 and leveled to 3184 last night. Getting 4 wins in a row when others are using up all your pool of lives sucks. Could get to three wins over and over again and would lose on the forth. Not really that big of a deal since it means I'm winning 75% of my matches so I'm constantly moving up the Comp rank. But you have to have a 4 win streak to be able to finish one of the requirements to gild your title. Last two games of what was really a 5 win streak.

Played IB tonight and finished up all the bounties. It was sweaty as usual. But we went in as a 4 stack and only got beat two times. One time I actually had zero kills and that hasn't happened in a long time. But we got destroyed in that match. I forgot to record the matches but this is the last half of the last match we played.

"THIS" is why the Hunter is so potent right now. Just the sheer amount of times that I can go invis and gain True Sight is silly. If you watch it, you'll see what I mean. It's only 5 mins long.

It's all about playing smart. You'll see how I outplay the guy with the Telesto because he gave his "tell" away by firing it before I pushed. So I just backed up and beat him.

The run up to 5500 is going pretty damn fast this season. Got my four wins in a row yesterday then checked back at all the matches that I played afterwards. Won 8 out of the 9 Survival matches that we played. Once you get the streak going? It's amazing how fast you level. Survival can be so frustrating. I understand if someone is new to PvP and doesn't understand how Survival works. But once you get over 2000 in your Comp score you should damn good and well know if you're the one using up all the lives in the pool? You're either pushing stupid angles or your running off by yourself and not sticking with a teammate.

This was almost every match we played yesterday evening. It was like playing 2v3 due to our teammate just running off and dying.

Anyway... 8 out of 9 matches. Not bad especially in this new sandbox.

Exactly what I've been saying all along with Void 3.0 and WL's. They pretty much got shit on with Void 3.0 in PvP. That is one reason my Arc build is still my go to build when playing PvP on my WL. It's just stronger.

Video starts with him at the WL mark. Exactly the "setup time" that I was talking about. Which, IMO makes Void 3.0 useless in PvP now that they changed Devour.

My PS Pulse 3D headsets finally broke. The rubber band that runs across the top came out of the side for some reason even though they only lay on my desk or they are sitting on my head. I've never been rough with them but whatever. Lasted a year and a half so can't complain too much for headsets that only cost $100. I just thought they sounded good until I got these.

    Steelseries Arctis 7P+

They are made specifically for the PS5 with the Tempest Audio built in. The Pulse headsets sounded good. But these sound amazing. Bass is deep and you can hear so much more than the Pulse headsets. They are much better constructed and much more comfortable. Plus... they have a 30 hour battery life. Highly recommended.

Finally got around to finishing up the Gilded Unbroken Title tonight. I've been playing a ton of Gran Truismo 7 this week but got back on and played some more IB so I could finish up my shotgun kills. Gilded 3 times now. I still consider this the hardest title to get in the game since it takes a year just to earn the title and you have to hit 5500 in each of those 4 seasons. Then Gilding it takes another set of objectives that you have to complete. This season wasn't as bad since one of the objectives was to get just 100 shotgun kills. Last season kind of sucked since it was 50 RL kills IIRC. That required you to camp heavy and that sucks. I rarely pick up heavy unless I just happen to be by it in the game. In Trials? Usually on heavy round, the round is over so fast that rarely is someone able to pick it up.

    Yeah.
Did some research, and it appears that only Sony provides the ability to balance between chat and game sound. These don't show a control for that, so I assume those reports are correct. I kinda like that feature, but is it even an issue with these?

I do like how they have rotary knobs. How is the fit on your head? Is it adjustable? We got my daughter the Sony ones, but she stopped using them because her head is too small for them and they aren't adjustable.

These actually do have controls for separate chat and game volume. There is a chat volume dial on the left side and a game volume dial on the right. The thing I really like about these (besides them sounding amazing) is I can actually hear myself talk though the mic. I couldn't do that with Sony's headset so it sounded like I had earmuffs on. You can adjust this up or down if you don't want to hear yourself talk but I like to know just how loud I'm talking so I don't speak too loud but also like to be able to hear my voice while playing since it gives the impression that I'm not wearing a headset. Think of it like having in ear monitors like entertainers have. There is a reason they use them. Same applies here.

Thing is... It really doesn't matter about the outgoing chat volume since the PS5 lets you adjust others chat volume separately in party settings. So if someone is speaking too low or too loud, you can adjust each person in the menu system without having to get everyone to adjust their own chat volume settings.

Fit is adjustable whereas the fit was non adjustable on the Pulse headset. If they fit they fit. If they didn't they didn't. These have a strap that runs "across" the top of the headset that you use to adjust to fit. The ear cups are also fabric instead of the synthetic leather on the Pulse which makes them much more comfortable. I'd say the only con is they are about twice as heavy as the Pulse since they house larger magnets for deeper bass. Using the Pulse for the last year and a half I've just gotten used to them but I never thought that the "Tempest 3D Audio" sounded amazing. I honestly thought it was more of a gimmick but in reality it's not. These headsets bring out the Tempest audio to its full potential. But that is the difference when you buy the $100 Pulse headset. You're making a compromise between price and performance. The Steel Series don't compromise.

One last thing I like about them is you can mute directly from the controller. The Pulse headset doesn't have that function for some reason that I've never understood? You could hit the mute button on the controller and it wouldn't mute the official PS headset which made no sense? These? You just hit the mute on the controller and they mute. No more fumbling around for the mute button on the side of the headset.

    Yeah.
I saw the Side Tone dial, but that sounds like it just adjusts how much of your own voice you can hear. I *think* there is a "monitor" setting on the PS5 that lets you do the same with the Pulse, but not sure if it lets you adjust volume, it's just on or off. I could be mistaken, though. I read reports that Sony wasn't sharing the ability to adjust the balance between chat and game sound, not sure if that is true. But if the balance between game and chat isn't really an issue, I might pick up a pair of these down the road. Probably have to break mine and then my daughter's first though -- she is using her Audio-Technica headphones since they actually fit her head.

The main thing she is giving up is the Tempest 3D Audio. And trust me... I didn't think much of it with the Pulse headsets. But with these??? Yeah, there is a gigantic difference in the 3D Audio that was intended by the Tempest engine within the PS5. I wouldn't have bought a new pair if my others hadn't broke. But I wasn't going to buy the Sony's again as I just wasn't impressed. But I did want one that accepted the Tempest 3D Audio and holy shit is the difference amazing. If your's still work fine and you are happy with them keep on using them. But if it comes time to replace them? Get these. You won't be disappointed

    Yeah.
Haha, great for pole dancing. I tend to have sweaty hands, but for some reason it doesn't happen when gaming. Biking though? I have to wear gloves or I'm gonna have a bad time.

Oh yeah, I just looked and the Pulse has a Monitor switch on it so you can hear your own voice. But no way to adjust the volume of you own voice. I think I tried it and it bugged me.

I've dropped or knocked my headset on the floor a few times, so it's only a matter of time.
