I think, Im going to purchase dobinsons rear suspension.
Ill be doing these for the first time. Im curious, Do I need to buy all the dobinsons parts such as Bushings ubolts and Grease pin kit? I know they are all probably going to fit together , but do I need to replace the pins too? Will any of my OEM parts transfer over?

More than likely Ill just buy everything but I thought I would ask.

What are you changing? Just the struts? It should come with everything. You are not going to touch the bushings or u bolts.

or are you changing the leaf pack? If you are, then you need longer u bolts and usally leaf packs don’t come with the bushings. So you will need 4 bushings for them.

Changing the leaf springs. I have 5100 bilistiens all the way around with oem springs and struts. Front is mid level on struts and I now want to upgrade the leaf springs.

Yea so for the rear you need the leaf pack. They usally don’t come with bushings. So you will need to buy those. And then longer u bolts. You need 4 of each.
And then just enjoy the truck :)

I don’t think you can press out the stock leaf spring bushings. You will most likely damage them. And maybe the stock leaf pack u bolts may almost reach but there won’t be enough thread on them to get a proper amount of torque

Thanks, Ill buy the recommended items from the same vendor to keep it easy. I was just curious if anyone ever mixed and matched or were certain items universal. Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, leaf springs, bushing kit and u-bolts are the minimum parts you'll need to change to the Dobinsons leaf packs.
