The water comes from this giant tank in the foreground that has pipe coming off it that I could walk through.

I had always heard a million gallons from my bosses. I don't know the math on how they break it down but I was standing just outside the pad perimeter when they ran that drill in 2019 and it was over in 20 seconds.

Where does the tankwater come from? Desalinated sea water?

I don't know for certain but being that close to the ocean is one of the most corrosive environments I've ever seen. I highly doubt that they would use anything but freshwater.

Re: Poll. Not, "No", not, "FUCK NO!", not even "Holy fuck no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", but "Never, ever, in a million years NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" If man was meant to fly, he would have been born with wings. That said, I love rappelling, and do a lot of tree work around my place with spurs and a flip-line, but jumping out of a perfectly serviceable* aeroplane??? Nope. Not going to happen.

*nb. For the purposes of this discussion, "perfectly serviceable" refers to any aircraft which has not actually burst into flame, either before, or after crashing in to a mountain.

I have been skydiving once in my life. I had just started dating a the girl that became my wife and she lived about 5 minutes from a skydiving place. Called and they had a cancellation so we drive right over. Didn’t really hit me what I was doing until we were pushing out of the plane over the wheel. Was definitely a little scary but was an awesome experience I’m glad I did.
