Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
Is this for some sort of Hello Kitty build?

Apparently, it would be a first. Closest I could find was a Pretty in Pink version.

Damn shame someone did that to an Access Cab.

That AC is the color of shackle I wanted. Nobody makes one far as I can tell so I'll have to get some custom powder coat done -- maybe the same time I remove the bumper to get it re-coated since I messed it all up with some cutting/welding a while ago.

Finally got the new Retrax Pro XR installed. WELL, WELL worth the expense. This thing is SO smooth, it works with one finger both ways. It takes up a small bit of bed rolled up, but with my LB Taco its not that bad and I can even stash a lot of stuff under the canister including my compressor. There is about 8" or 9" space under the canister.

Its fairly water tight as well at the cab end, as I've sealed things well, but there are a few leaks around the tail gate, but I knew that going in with the amount of space around the OEM gate.
    UpTopp bed truss up next......

    Oh look, another mod....

They make a voodoo blue shackle. I'm surprised you didn't get one, like I did.

I would skip spending $$ on any aftermarket intake hose that just seems like a wasted effort. If someone's gonna spend the $100 for a reusable filter and the TRD rubber flow accelerator AND another $170-200 on a hose, then they should just buy the $350 TRD Cold Air "system".

I still am skeptical about any of it making a meaningful difference, but to each their own. I did the flow accelerator because it was cheap and the reusable air filter because of the ease of maintaining it. Not expecting meaningful gains of any sort. I don't even think it sounds any different, either.

Sorry if I got the economics wrong. I admit to not looking up the current prices for everything. I did the mod years ago.

I think I was about as neutral as one could be. I said "Here's what I did, because I had THIS particular problem, and I know it makes A difference because it cured my problem." I didn't make any claims about "meaningful gains" or even knowing exactly what effect the changes I made had on the system.

...but as that well-worn saying goes "To each their own."

IMO, replacing the intake hose with the HPS silicone tube did improve air flow which provided for a bit quicker acceleration. another benefit is the engine actually made some noise under the hood which I like.

If the hose is making additional noise under the hood, I wouldn't be able to tell (MBRP dual cat-back).

Actually I was referring to the guy you were replying to. Wasn't trying to jump on your back or refute what you did. When replying back sometimes it doesn't make it clear.

That's the way I went a year ago! It's pretty slick and the way the uptop rack sits on the retrax. It's already helped me out in so many ways being able to put some heavy, long, and awkward loads on top and still put nice stuff under the retrax. Heck, you can even load up the retrax itself with a lot of weight, so you have three tiers of loading capability.

Really didn't think about the 3 tier thing, but you are probably right, its bloody strong! It really does seem like a high quality piece.

These pics are in the garage instead of the better light outside, but its about 29deg out today, so Sandy has been inside all day:

You can just barely see the drain tubes for shedding water in these pics. I used the 2 OEM drain holes in the bed for the Retrax drain tubes, and just had to widen them a tad:
