Do you guys have a favorite 3/8 torque wrench for measuring 18ft-lbs of torque? Mine don't start getting accurate until I'm over 25 ft-lbs.

 

Anything under 25 is basically hand tight.

I use a CDI 0-300 in-lb torque wrench up until my 20-100 ft-lb Kobalt. Then I have a Kobalt 50-250ft lb one.

The new kobalt ones seem to be lower quality than when I bought mine.

 

Today I learned <2001 vehicles can pass emissions with 2 system not readys, but 2001+ can only have 1. No wonder I can reset my Taco's CELs in the emissions test parking lot and still pass lol

Plot twist, it was a shaky old diabetic who later died of a coma. The paramedics missed the syringe

 

I've been doing it by hand for a lifetime. Then hanging on mud has revealed that I must recheck spark plugs for 15 to 18lbs torque at specified mileage intervals or the Denso plugs will back themselves out. LOL I never felt dumb when I was working on the Tacoma or countless aluminum engined Infiniti or Nissan.
