Chrome “Tacoma” badges on the doors and no decel around the hood scoop. The sales manager at my dealer has submitted a case to Toyota including a picture of the black decal as it appears on the Toyota build website so waiting to hear what they say.

there honestly isn’t a point.. had I of not put a deposit down so early I would have just bought an off-road knowing it’s so stripped down. Lesson learned, oh well

 

No bed boxes? I thought that was one of the unique items on the trail even if they aren’t very functional.

 

I'll throw my story into the thread. Friend of mine put down a deposit on a DC Sport Premium last Thursday, delivery supposed to be in June. I went into my dealer yesterday as I'm feeling close to pulling the trigger for the same and my salesman said they're not even sure they can get that one, something about the chip for the blind spot system not available. They have no idea when they will get another premium. They're supposed to have a meeting Thursday and he would update me after.

-Bronze rims (I really dislike the Offroad rims)
-Heritage Grill
-Predator side steps
-small lift
-black badging(wasn't on when it came but dealer put it on no charge)
-access to Lunar Rock(only available on the Offroad if you go Premium which is $1000 more than the trail.

Only thing that was on the Offroad that I really wanted that wasn't on the Trail was the LED daytime running lights.

 

Just left my dealership that I've been working with to leave a deposit on an allocation for a 6MT PRO ETA June 14. Made the deal, salesman wrote it up and I gave a deposit. The deal was for MSRP no other fees. After taking my deposit the sales manager comes over and says "you know this is a pretty rare truck, we wont get anymore this year, as a matter of fact we didn't get any 6MT PRO's at all last year, so if you want it you have to now pay a $799 dealer fee." he then says " you shouldn't complain we are giving you more then what you paid for your truck a month ago on trade." I told my salesman a deal is a deal, I get that I'm going to make a little on my trade but they are going to make even more. I left it at that and walked out. I told them to honor the deal or I will be back tomorrow for my deposit. If they told me I had to pay it before hand I probably would have. the thing that gets me is I am going to be trading in a 22 ELG PRO on the 6MT. Used trucks are at an all time high right now let alone a 22 PRO. I am thinking I will take the deal but sell the PRO on my own and not trade it in. If anyone here is interested PM me

 

He tried to get you to pay more after you'd already signed a sales contract? What an idiot...

 

Makes sense to sell the truck privately if you can get more than the trade.

What colour Pro 6MT did you put a deposit on?

 

Well….. they called it a proposal/worksheet. I told them they can think about it till tomorrow, honour the deal or I’ll be by in the am for my deposit back.

 

Black. Not my first choice but sometimes you don’t get a choice. The auto I have is ELG.

 

Any world from your dealer about the hood decal. Mines coming soon and I’m wondering if it has it

 

The sales manager I’m dealing with just left for vacation today so nothing yet. Be prepared for no decel and chrome rather than blacked out Tacoma badges on the doors as myself and s0dhi had our trucks both delivered this way..

 

tell him you will make a complaint to AMVIC or your applicable regulator and I bet the dealer will honor the deal.

Ordered a tacoma sport DCLB in lunar rock on February 17 in the Montréal area. I was told yesterday that the expected delivery date is between June 25th and July 5th. Fingers crossed it comes in on time!

 

Not much I can do really. The salesman I've been working with is the Leasing Manager. I've done a lot of deals over the years with him and they have always worked out. Whatever agree too has always worked out.

Was this an "official sales contract from the dealer" no, but it was a signed offer to purchase. The same thing I've done many times with them. When it went to get written up is when the dealer fee was put on the deal. The sales MGR would not sell their PRO 6MT with out it. He did tell me that if I wanted any other Tacoma that they have coming unsold or wanted to order one I could without the dealer fee. BUT if I wanted the PRO I had to pay it. I do get the reasoning behind it given how hard it is to get a PRO let alone a 6MT but man it sucks. The best i could get then to do was the salesman said he would pay 1/2 of the dealer fee out of his commission and throw in an oil change. I have walked on deals before over dealer fee's and I get its the norm now.

On a side note when I did the deal on my 22 ELG PRO auto. I got a bit of a discount off of MSRP and no fees. This was at a different dealer. Looking back at it and after talking to a few other people I know in the industry it seems some dealers think the ELG is a hard sell and are willing to deal on one a little? I'm not sure, just speculating.

 

Do they have it advertised anywhere? If they do they have to honor the advertised pricing.

 

No it’s not advertised. But even if it was they have to honour an advertised price but fees can still be added.

The price advertised plus GST is the law.
All-in pricing is the law in Alberta. That means when an AMVIC-licensed seller advertises the price of a vehicle it must include ALL fees and charges the seller intends to charge. The only fee that can be added to the advertised price is GST and any costs associated with financing.

 

In Alberta yes. But how many dealers even advertise Tacoma’s in Alberta. Also it has to state all in pricing. I can also be advertised as xxxx price and subject to fees.
