    Whatever scan tool you get, I suggest you get one that reads ABS codes.
    I got this one -- ABS is not supported for all vehicles but it works on my Tacoma.

    Live misfires would be in manufacturer specific data, it looks like the tool you are looking at only does generic OBD 2.
    I have a SnapOn Verus Edge and Autel MS906BT but I work at a shop.

    ThinkDiag on order and will report on it, it looks like it could be a promising all system bidirectional scan tool that fits the DIY price range although it is subscription based.

    Whatever you buy make sure it's supported by a U.S. distributor. I have a Launch CP123E, purchased new off of Ebay from a New Jersy distributor and it's not supported by the U.S. distributor. It did one of its updates and when it was finished the internal serial number disappeared making it useless. Without the internal serial number in there it will not function. An email to the U.S. distributor in California who referred me to the Chinese manufacturer, who then gave me the run-a-round and end the end I just gave up. From what the U.S. distributor told me in the email is that the CP123E was not meant to be sold in the U.S. It's now a red brick. I now have an Innova that is capable of reading auto trans temp, ABS codes, and will also bleed the ABS.

    I have a 2.7l 2006 2tr-fe.. so I'm guessing it would work on mine too..? is it capable of active readout?
    I guess I can research myself.. feeling inundated. Haha

    I have the actron pocket scanner and also have the ultragauge. I find that my Tacoma is too dependable so far to have thrown just one code for a loose gas cap that the ultragauge easily caught and cleared after a fill up. Unfortunately, the scanner gets much more use on my 98 Jeep wrangler or borrowed by coworkers.

    Yes I assume it would work on your truck as I have the same year & engine. I have never used it for active readout so I don't know. Here is the manual for the Actron CP9660:

    The 5310 just reads the codes. I think the higher priced models will do the bleed. (The 5510 and the 5610 perhaps.)

    That's beyond my DIY skills, I got the reader to decipher any CEL warnings that pop up so I know what to watch. I would have to google the 5310 and read the manual to see if it has that kind of live data capabilities.
