ALSO, just FYI. I am getting married in 2 weeks so I've got a lot on my schedule.
This is also why I am not taking payment for these before I can actually ship them out. That way you know exactly where your stuff is.

Hey NZ, sorry to turn down your PayPal request. I was building a roof rack yesterday with some flat stock and actually made up some decent brackets with cutoff scrap pieces. I feel bad swiping your design but...30 dollars saved is ALMOST half a tank of gas!! Gotta pinch pennies where I can!

No worries, please steal the design. I really started making these because people wanted them. The distance between mounting holes that I used is 1.5".

If anyone needs these in between batches, I think I found an alternative that may be easier to DIY than boring a square hole. I made my brackets out of some 1/4x1 bar I had laying around. To get a stud with a low profile head, I used a press-in wheel stud. I figure if they can take the weight of the vehicle, they should hold up for a seat. I went to a motorcycle dealer to find a short metric stud (ended up using Yamaha 90114-10014), but anything with a short shoulder knurl (depending on steel thickness) should work.

 

I never thought about using a press in stud. FYI for anyone that wants to make your own, the distance between the hole centers is 1.5”. The seat bolts are 8mm, but I made the hole slightly larger to account for some misalignment.

 

Hey man I was wondering how much it would cost to fab up some rear seat conversion brackets and front seat conversion brackets I am taking seats off a 1999 4 runner and putting it in my 4D taco

 

Ooooooh! Please, please, PLEASE take pictures and post your build. I'd love to see how the 4Runner rear seat fits... been trying to find a way around Katzkin's reluctance to do split kits for years.

 

I have one set of front brackets left.

I have no way to mock-up or fabricate anything for rears since I have an extended cab. I imagine that it would be too much work anyway since I doubt the seats are close enough in dimensions.
