    COOL Stuff I can't afford . . . But I bought anyway!
This mod could be done with the oem system if you wanted. I installed infinity kappa 6x9 components previously with the crossover mounted inside the door panel, and ran a new wire through the door chase and up into the dash to connect the tweeter. So today, I simply tapped the tweeter output of the crossover for the second tweeter. They both work flawlessly and the frequency cross is correct because they’re both kappa 1.5” tweeters.

however, if you wanted to do this mod with the oem system, you would simply tap the dash speaker wire, and run the additional wire down and into the door (as I did) and place the supplied tweeter crossover in line mounted inside the door. Drill your holes, and mount your speakers.

been driving around for about an hour and re tweaking the sound in the truck. They’ve made a huge difference.

I have the same component tweeters, and was thinking of doing what you suggested, running it through the boot without the crossover, but the 3.5" JBLs seem to be doing the trick. We did a complete speaker replacement, along with a bunch of other items this last weekend, so it's been on my mind.

Just because we accept one invasion of privacy in the name of convenience does not mean we must accept all invasions of privacy. I'm ok with Google having that location data because I use their location services on a daily basis for navigation (because the built in nav in these trucks is garbage), but I am not ok with Toyota having the same information.

Fuse box under the hood. The fuse is marked DCM. You can just rip it out and eventually the backup battery will die.

Fair warning: the data path for voice search and hands free calling runs through the Data Collection Module (which to me is all the more reason to unplug it) so when you disable it you will lose that capability. For some reason, voice-to-text still works like a champ.

Great log! I used to do the same thing myself out of habit from checking out motor pool vehicles. It's a great way to keep track of how things are operating (I did it for gas fill ups too). Some folks I'm sure want to hide their investments though out of fear of a beat down. lol

    Tailgate Lock Assembly.

Has anyone installed the Pop -N- Lock assembly in their tailgate, and if so how do you like it? I recently purchased it to install it.

Installed the Toyota part. I'd assume functionally the same. Love the fact that I can lock my tailgate remotely. Something so stupid is so handy. Figured since the truck came with the factory tonneau i might as well be able to remotely locl the tailgate.

Along with all the other gadgets this thing has in it... I'm in love with it.

Keep in mind my last truck was a 1987 GMC S15 that I owned in 1998. Rotten pile of steamy, hot, wet garbage that thing was.

Did you happen to put any sort of sealer on your truck? Something similar happened to me.....I think I had some of the sealer residue in the rag I was using to clean the windows. Ended up switching to paper towels and I was able to get it off with some elbow grease.

Like Allan, I also installed the oem Toyota lock kit and I love it in combination with my tonneau. The install can be a little annoying, but definitely worth it in my opinion. Honestly can't believe we don't get a power locking tailgate from the factory, at least on the upper trims.

Did you install all the leafs provided? It looks like you did, if so that’s option 3. Option 2 is replacing the third from the top with the extra one that’s included.

I installed the Runnin4Tacos kit. I think the only major difference is how loud it is.

Why the hell not? Because since 2019 the engine has both port and direct injectors so at low speed the intake valves are getting washed with fuel and no longer coke up making the removal of oil mist through the PCV system unnecessary.

It doesn't adversely impact performance, it looks cool, and it gives the fuel less schmutz to wash off. So, I'm with the OP on the question of "why the hell not?"
