Okay sounds good thanks. What else do they do at the dealership trying to get a timeline for when they will be able to go get it registered

I thought hard about it. I have a serious aversion in white. And I'm hoping I find one more manual in any of the other three colors.

Wait is it at port? Or the actual dealer? If it’s at the actual dealer, it depends on what they’ve told you, those would be dealer add-ons that they’ll probably charge you for - you should be able to just take the car as soon as it’s delivered otherwise. You may ask your dealer what they’re doing. A lot of people request that they don’t wash or badge the car with dealer crap - but “required” dealer addons is any easy way for them to upcharge over MsRP otherwise

if it’s at port then these are factory add ons and you’d be a bit away from getting it still, you should be able to use the VIN and “Dev tools” trick that is talked about a lot in this thread to see ETA if yours has one

Its at the actual dealership. I was there monday and signed all paperwork and gave my down payment so everything is finalized. I live in Massachusetts but bought the truck in rhode island so they have to register the car for me so I can drive it out of the dealership. I didnt pay for them to do any paint protect or anything like that. They said it might take til monday to get done because getting appointments at the rmv is tough since covid started. Just am very impatient haha thinking of calling them tomorrow and asking for an update to see if they will get it done by the end of the week

I just picked up my 2022 SR Access Cab in MGM, with the Utility package for MSRP, with no additional dealer mark up. I had a pretty easy time getting my truck compared to most here. I assume this was because mine was not a higher spec model or in a more desirable color. I visited my dealer on Jan 15th and told him what I was looking for. He took my order without asking for a deposit. The truck was built in February. I was told it was in Freight status on March 1. I picked it up at the dealer March 22.

I think you got lucky bro. That MGM access cab is about as rare as trucks come. You have a sick rig, ready for all kinds of mods. I almost bought your exact truck. MGM is sick! And will look amazing at 20 years old

The access cab is simply a better truck then the 4 door.

For what you paid you have a lot of extra cash to trick it out. you can build it out however you see fit!

Congrats man, your going to LOVE that access cab

I believe you need a form 37.658 for a registration ticket for queuing process in lane 27. Please remember to complete the pre intake questionnaire before completing your waiting log.

It’s funny you mention colour. I was looking for a white 6MT. Every dealer I talked to said good luck finding a 6MT let alone choosing a colour. I took a ELG auto they had coming that was 4 weeks out. Less then a week later I found 2 6MT in my city that just got allocated and one ELG 14 hours away. The white one was at the dealer that I got my auto from but was told it was sold. ELG I was making a deal over the phone and gave my cc for a deposit to the salesman and he came back 5 mins later and said sorry it just sold. Last night I put a deposit on the other one which was black. But after I gave the deposit the salesman came back and said the Mgr said if I want it I have to pay a $800 dealer fee on top of msrp. After going back and forth for a few mins I walked out. I told them to honour the deal or I will be back tmrw for my deposit back. The sales Mgr response was I shouldn’t complain because they are giving me a little above msrp on trade for my 22 pro auto. When I asked why are all the used tacomas over msrp his response was it’s fair market value. So your giving me fair market value for my truck was my response. Greedy SOB’s.

Yeah when trading in my 2021 pro manual at the only msrp dealer in the stat they offered me 44k with 2500 miles on it. I was sitting at a desk right next to a 2019 pro on the floor with 34k miles listed at 54k and it’s a one price dealer and a Toyota dealer at that. I went to another dealer they gave me 51.1k. So watch out for these msrp dealers they try and make it back on your trade. The 44k offer was followed up by my favorite but it’s like your getting 48k because with a trade you’ll save on taxes. Yeah and if you gave me 50k it would be like getting 55k. All that matters is the difference between trade and what you pay. In my case the difference between at msrp dealer was 19k the non msrp was 14k. Buyer beware

I guess I'm lucky. Went looking for a new Taco to replace my 2009 TRD mid February and got a call that my truck is finished and being shipped today.
My first choice was a Barcelona Red TRD Offroad 4 dr. longbed but I put my deposit on a TRD Sport Black coming in early April. I really didn't want either a Sport or a black truck but my guy said 4dr long beds are very hard to come by so I should consider it and try to swap when it arrives. Got a call a week later asking if I wanted to change my deposit to the Offroad in Barcelona, 4dr, longbed that was due to be built this week. Of course I did but it was configured with the high performance exhaust, running boards, and hard trifold. Definitely didn't want any of those features and everything was deleted except the cover. I'll either get them to take it off and credit me or just sell the cover and get what I want. Kind of wish that I got the LEDs but no big deal. Just a few more weeks and I'll decide if I want the new truck or just keep my old one. I really don't like the short beds at all but not sure how the extra 12" will behave driving off road or in the city. Can't justify getting an access cab rather than 4dr, so if it's too long I'll be looking at 4Runners instead of a short bed truck. They are getting MSRP and said that I could turn the truck over and make money upon delivery so no risk.
