You’ll have the grandpa big-time nosedive truck stance, but it won’t hurt anything

Stink-Buggin; back end is too high
I installed my RXT leaf pack, with option 2 setting and got about 3&1/8 inch lift - is that normal??? Will these settle back closer to the 2&1/4 lift that Icon advertises??
    I was hoping that

I just installed as well. Yes they will settle a bit. I set it up for option 2 as well. Definitely the right choice for my needs. Love having rake when loaded. I see way to many leveled Tacomas :anonymous:
I installed Thursday went on a trip on Friday. Loaded that bed up still had over an inch of rake

They will settle a little but probably not as much as you are hoping. Do you haul stuff in your bed often? If so that's when option 2 pays off and maintains level or some rake even with a load. My second gen option 2 has some slight rake and its perfect for when I haul stuff.

Depends how flat your original springs were. Try loading it with a few hundred pounds and work out the suspension through its travel

FWIW I have to say it’s so nice to have a leaf pack that actually has rake and holds weight so nice.

I will try this more, I did put a little weight ~125 lbs in the rear and when I first installed I drove over A LT of speed bumps to try to get the to flex/move.
Factory spring were pretty flat - guess that makes sense - just hope they will settle about and inch.
Reading some of the posts it seems like several people report more lift thank advertised, but I haven't seen a lot of people reporting is they settle/sag a bit after breaking in.

I used option 2 because I go from a somewhat Overland/camping set up to just off roading to towing a small trailer. I also have about an extra 100 lbs in the back at all times (rack, recovery gear, rear bumper). I went with Icon because I wanted to go a little over factory spring rate; better for towing but not harsh on road and unusable off road (because it wont flex). Trying to make a truck (or anything) usable for a lot of different uses/situations isn't easy.
If my back end will settle to around 2.5 inches of lift over what it was I will be happy, so hopefully these will settle at least 2/3 (0.625) inch.
I want about 1 inch rake, most people want it even (mostly for looks), but like you I will be hauling sometimes and have different loads from basically empty to 200 - 300 lbs added so starting off I want a little rake. Luckily I don't feel any driveline vibration even at ~3&1/8 inch lift.

I went with the Timbren Ublot flip kit (ABSTRFK) from ToyTech. I went with these because my Fox shocks with are about 1.2 inches longer at compression than stock shocks (also have about 1.5 in. more travel). Also they are a "softer" bump stop; since I don't have overload springs now I felt this was important. When compressed these Timbrens are about 1.2 inches taller than the stock bump stops so I don't have to worry about my new shock bottoming out. I would also look at Archive Garage ubolt flip - I would have gone with them except for the longer shocks. The ubolts came with the Timbren kit, I don't know their length.

I went with option 2 because of a canopy,100-150 lbs of gear, and i tow a fishing boat. When first installed the back was 24 1/2" hub to fender.... front at 22". I added 200 lbs of sandbags which dropped the back down to 24". I'm hoping once things settle and the sand removed i'll be around 23 3/4" which will be back to the factory rake of 1 3/4" on the 2nd gen.

Option 2 (just insinstalled ) with about 220 pounds in the rear I am 24.5 inches ceneter of wheel to bottom of fender. I do think in the day & 1/2 they have been on and now driven on they have already settled a little. I will try to remember to update in a few months.

Ordered my springs yesterday so now I wait, but while waiting I’d like to grab a few other things to wrap up the rear suspension. Looking for a better ride then stock that can take loading up camping gear for the family, mainly fire road riding along with DD duties and “hardest” trails would be uwharrie (if your familiar with NC trails. Starting with the truck as it sits; it has 6112/5100’s fronts at 4/5 clip and 22 1/4” hub to fender, rear has a 1” block and sits 22” hub to fender. Looking for some rake (around an 1” or so) so going off the chart I should install at stage 1.

I have a ARE shell, bed mat, and full size spare under the bed (255/80r17 on stock steel wheel) unsure of how much weight I am carrying back there but judging by others in this thread with that kind of weight I should install at stage 2.

And lastly I’m wanting the most down travel I can get while running factory shock mounts, so I should run the 5125’s? I believe the part number is 33-230337? Or I’ve also seen something about b110’s?

Probably going to pick up those, a timbren u bolt flip and if needed extended brake lines.

Bilstein 5125 will be fine for 2-3.5” of lift

    I’m running Fox 985-24-118

I’m on option 1 and needed extended lines. These springs flex well

C_Walters - are you saying your 255/80R17 spare fits in the factory location under the bed? I am getting ready to order/get new 34" tires (285/75R17) and going with 255/85R16 (33") spare - it looked like it would squeeze in there, but barly.

With the 220 pounds extra I am running with right now the rear is stiffer, but not harsh - shocks have a lot to do with that. Bilstein's typically being a digressive shocks will likely be a bit more "bumpy" on the road. I think my springs are already settling a little after being on the truck only 3 days.

As you probably know, with these springs being more flexible than the stock ones your limitation will likely be your shock length - this is why I went with longer Fox shocks(985-26-118, same as Mank621). During install I was stretching the brake lines good amount to make room to work, get them in, after installing I forgot for to look how much droop/down travel there was, but it like Mmak621 confirms we should replace the brake line with longer ones, well at least if your extended shock lenght is at least 24.8 inches)
. Thinking about it now these will likely loosen up and even if not need now likely will once they are broken in.

yes I took the spare tire wench down and redrilled the two rear holes, that moved it towards the rear about an inch.

What's your distance between the bumpstop and frame with truck on the ground?

Its about 2.5 inches, which means I have about 4.75 inches of up travel/compression - these Timbren bumpstops compress about 2&1/4 inches if I remeber correcty.
If you are wanting a little more uptravel (compression) look at Archive Garage - They have an option for a Timbren bumpstop and I think the pedistal that they mount to is a little lower so you will get little more up travel/compression.
I am good because my Fox shocks 985-26-118 have a compression length about 1.2 inches longer that stock/factory shocks(15.2inches). Since I am going with 34x11 inch tires (about 3.3 inches bigger) that have a radius about 1.7 inches bigger I wanted to make sure the tires would not rub at full stuff/compression. So the additional hieght on the bumpstop, which is about 1.2 inches, works perfect for me.
I measure my old OEM Bilstien shocks and they are about 14 inches compressed and 23&1/4 inches at full extension.
