Got my windows tinted this morning and just driving home I can feel the heat difference (83° in San Diego right now) stoked how they came out. Went 15% and I think it makes the AVS’s look even better now. Just need to get my truck aligned and need to pick up some 15° bolt on sliders and I’ll be happy with how my truck sits for now. Oh and still looking for a softopper…..

Yes. No splicing. Completely plug and play. you do have to modify the existing plastic grommets for the new cable. Just drilling a 11/32" hole on each one.

Not sure how good of a deal it is, but check the date code. I've seen super good deals on tires that were pretty old but new.

Yep, they are just self sticking pipe insulation roles from Home Depot. They stick together and work nice for keeping things from getting marred up.

The GoTreads Ive only used once in sand, but they did work as advertised. I'm not saying they would be a better choice than recovery boards, but if you have lacking room I think they are a viable choice.
I think I will end up putting these in the wife's CR-V, once I get the UpTopp bed truss for my Taco.

Whether they are there to protect the cats or to stiffen the frame, either way, they need to be removable for service access (replacing cats, etc.)

As others have said, this is definitely an aftermarket alarm installed by a dealership. It looks like one installed by SouthWest Dealer Services. Many dealerships in Southern California employ them to install alarms that allow for salespeople to access all vehicles on the lot with the same master keyfob. You'll notice the salespeople tapping on the window twice and then using the fob to open the door.

If the dealership does enough volume, they'll have a dedicated on-site employee from SWDS who does these all day. When a customer purchases the vehicle, they try to sell the alarm as a feature that the dealership added to the car for you, but the reality is that they put it there for themselves and it cost them about $40. If the customer purchases it, they program a new "chip," to put the alarm system into "customer mode" instead of "dealership mode."

You can usually negotiate the dealership waaaaay down on the price, or completely out of it all together. If I remember correctly, agreeing to purchase the alarm system also includes some kind of insurance to cover your deductible or any other losses if the vehicle is ever stolen. My local Toyota dealership tries to sell this for $2,000, but you can get them down to less than $200 if you just keep saying no. Well, you used to be able to, before all of the car price craziness that we're seeing today (now I think they just let you walk, because they know the next guy will pay it).

    Re: SouthWest Dealer Services
IMO, if the dealership put in on, then they can remove it as well. No one should have to pay for something they didn't ask for and don't want.
When I bought my Taco I stipulated NO stickers, logos or license plate frames. I don't do free advertising for anyone. If they want advertising then provide me with a fair price and good service and I will recommend them.

Maybe, but with all the fancy double swivel ratchet pieces nowadays it probably wouldn’t be necessary to be able to remove the cats. Also now that I think about it, doesn’t really offer a whole lot of protection from obstacles and if you were on something pointed enough that you could put it into that area you’d have a whole other set of issues. :D I just choose to avoid arrowhead looking rocks. In any case just my .02 or is it .04 now?; I definitely see your point (no pun intended). :anonymous:
