How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

Build date 3/9 here, built 3/9 & 3/10 temp vin stopped working 3/11 got new vin 3/12 and entered into Vspec and toyota app. Projected deliver was 3/29-4/4. 3/12 toyota app show fuel and air. 3/16 truck shows someone opened it to move it. Called dealer 3/18 and it was on train already past the port. Called back 3/22 and truck was spotted in Kansas last. Today app shows truck door opened and added 1 more mile (assuming they unloaded it from the train). Dealer told me yesterday projected date was 3/24 now but not to count on that because they're waiting for another toyota from same train yard for over a week now. I put my deposit down beginning of February after working with 4 dealers here in DFW with no deposit because I was worried of not getting a truck. Hoping truck lands at dealer by next monday so I can fly out next weekend to pick it up.

 

I sent my specs to the dealership about mid Nov, my truck just came in.

 

9/22 order placed for mgm pro They never ran my card for the deposit.

12/17 allocation received.

2/2 truck built a couple weeks late.

3/21 truck delivered to cape cod.

hang in there everyone. It’ll come. My dates were all over the place from both the dealer and the dev tools stuff. Manny at ira Toyota in Orleans is the man. They are msrp for in state buyers. Worth the drive from boston to save $5k

Mention a few post earlier, my friend was worried about not getting her deposit back. Well her guy at the dealership here in Denver is not picking up his phone and another salesman is saying her deposit is not refundable. Hopefully she can convince them later this week.

She place it in November, never got allocated one and then her order was canceled since it was for the Voodoo Blue that was discontinued. Seems like that last fact would be enough to get a deposit back. Hoping it works out.

 

I'm pretty sure voodoo blue was discontinued in 2021 and never was an option for 2022. That was the color I really wanted so I was looking at 2021 inventory in december and january. I would say if they took her deposit for a 2022 they deceived her and she should be able to get it back. I asked when putting my deposits down "what if the exact truck I want doesn't come in X amount of time" they said its refundable at that point but no if you go somewhere else and buy a truck.

 

Was this mountain state toyota? They’re the only dealership I spoke to in denver that was entirely non refundable.

I also think it’s hard for a deposit for a car to be non refundable if the product was unable to be delivered within a reasonable time frame. I’d file a dispute with your card and complaint with the BBB and escalate accordingly. Make it a pain in their ass until it’s more convenient for them to refund. That’s bad business.

It’s not like they received the truck AND you backed out, they never got the item. Failure to deliver goods, SMH.

I had deposits with Pedersen, Groove, and Interstate and all refunded.

 

what tires/size did you go with? Man I wish I would've scored a 2021 LR Pro. They look so clean stock, and as much as Im gonna spend on suspension after the fact couldve got one lol

Basically what I told her, but disputing the CC charge is a great idea too. It's completely within their ability to issue a $500 refund. She also has a 4Runner she was planning on selling. They said they would match any private sale offer which I thought was crazy. Im sure they are preparing for a more serious dry period.

 

Yeah. I was a bit surprised too considering the typical wait period I was seeing on here. I dont know if it matters but I did not have any additional technology package add ons. I was able to remove a few items like predator steps and bed lights also because i didnt see the need for them.

temp vin isn't working. the d in the last part indicates its temp vin. Maybe it got built but dealer should have that info.

So got an update from my dealer that it was "last spotted 3/22/2022 in Princeton, IN". This is the closest auto ramp facility near my dealer near St. Louis. Start searching around, and I find a site that has all the auto ramp drop off locations for Toyota. It was a 2018 file, so I browse the directory and find the 2021 file (newest one available). Sure enough, Princeton IN is an official Toyota auto ramp site and with the exact address (see attached file if you want to find out where yours will land via rail). Then, I found that Cassens transport moves vehicles for Toyota in that area and is actually located onsite right next to where they unload the Tacomas. I then find out you can search their site if you know the dealer code and VIN. Mine didn't return results yet by my guess is they haven't "received" the truck yet from the rail contractor that unloads from the yard. Cassens just happens to be headquartered within 20 minutes of my house and they serve mainly the midwest. I don't know for sure if they'll be transporting mine but I'll check for the next few days to see if this search works. Mine is due 3/29-4/04. That looks like a real vin so I don’t think the tracking works - I think this is “Toyota connected services” time

 

Yes, this was pretty frustrating for us but we’re happy now and feel lucky that everything worked out.

Wise move I would say. I have a MGM now and was dead set on getting AG in Manual however due to the rarity and getting scared as shit I wont get one I think I am about to open up to another MGM or Lunar Rock as well. I like all three colors so at this point the sooner I get it the sooner I can stop being paranoid.
