I like it, till my 6’3” big ass is standing in between the hatch and back of the car. How much light would be blocked? I can for sure see being able to work on something under the shop lights though.

That's a ton of photons! :bananadead:

Are those used for rock lights typically?

Couldn’t tell you. I’m a full ft shorter than you. They are pretty floody though so I don’t see why they wouldn’t work. Maybe offset them out further instead of dead center like I did?

Yes sir. Rock lights. They have a dome light version too. Same thing but has a switch.

Glad I found this thread. Tried the Rav4 world and still skim through a bit. Not a lot going on there.

The lady has a 2019 XLE Premium in Lunar Rock. She eyed it when I was purchasing my Taco a month or two later and we're back at the dealership purchasing the rav4.

So far have only upgraded wheels to the TRD offroad I found for cheap and toyo at3.

She doesn’t care about mods or upgrade so it goes on the backburner but plans include:
    Tint
    Fogs - diode dynamics
    Lift - thinking Eibach springs
Prinsu roof rack (no longer have basket)C58E6F39-81AA-4B33-9278-FDF2D6F6F87E.jpg

one thing we’ve had to replace was the ac condenser as a rock put a hole in it from freeway driving. Insurance covered but I need to get the guard installed soon.

Rav4world really sux compared to this place overall. It's a group of folks that have little enthusiasm about cars in general, certainly not much about their Ravs. Oh well!

Your Lunar Lander looks sweet! Those look to be Adventurer or TRD wheels? I've been perusing wheels online looking for that "just right" combo. Like I did know my Taco, I'm really looking for a nice design but in dark gunmetal. As much I like black, it loses all detail once you get 10-15 yards away. My dark gunmetal look very dark, near black at a distance but you can see the design of the wheel still, not just a dark void.

What size of tires, wheels, and offset is your combo?

I installed Diode Dynamic SS3 Pro Drivers in the RAV and they are sweet! I received my Draw-tite trailer hitch and wiring kit and that's going on this afternoon when my wife gets home. I think Clazzios might be the next thing. We're going straight black with perforated insert since we can get them right away at a cheaper price. I recently saw their dark gray insert and it's really light....too light to work right with our interior so black it is.

Oh, just got our plates yesterday so I could apply for personalized plates. We got MOONROK. A running joke about my wife's homemade Biscuits she once made! She wanted MOONROK because of the color, too.

@GrizzledBastard - Wheels are the 2020 TRD wheels, which are 18" +35 offset, Tires are Toyo At3 245/60/18. Absolutely no rub.

Super happy with the DD Sports on my taco so I can only imagine how nice the pros are. If I upgrade the taco to pro, i'll install the sports on the rav. I've heard great thing about the clazzios, if we didn't already have the leather option it would definitely had been done.

SofTek is the only thing we really wanted that we didn't get on this one. After seeing these Clazzios, I'm pissed I didn't look into them deeper for my Taco because I paid about $500 for the Coverkings in neoprene. They fit super well but I thought the leather would cost twice as much. The RAV gets them first, then my Taco.

Those TRD wheels will go on the list. They look nice. I'm looking at Black Rhino, Methods, and a couple others. I may grab the tires first, though because I'm definitely sticking to 17's.

Did a drive up north and put a couple-a-few hundred miles on to finish out the 'break-in' period yesterday. We're at a bit over 1100 miles now and my spirited driving on the all freeway drive found me constantly bouncing of 80 mph yet finding that the general flow of traffic on this long mostly uninhabited stretch of 101 freeway. Round trip got us an average mpg of 30 mpg. I'm very okay with that and quite impressed at this 2.5's spunk! She's very responsive and doesn't feel like it just maxed out when you need to put it to the wood. Loving the machine more and more.

Ordered a set of wheels for it on Saturday and those are on the way. Shopping tires now but cautiously. I can roll with the OEM's if I have to.

KMC 545 Treks with gray tint center should be a nice touch with the Lunar Rock. I sure hope so, anyway! o_O Won't be running that tire though!

It seems 4 out of 5 dealers will have a mark up right now. You’ll have to email or call around until you find one that will sell at msrp. You’ll likely be waiting awhile(months) for one that you want but at least you won’t be paying a mark up.

What are the chances.... They won't sell it at MSRP even if I put down a deposit and waited?

msrp is about as good as it gets right now because the next guy walking in wanting a rav4 will likely pay over msrp for it. I put down a deposit on the allocation of the rav4 I wanted and waited 2 months for it to arrive.

we've had an 07 v6, a 2013 xle and now a 2018 se magnetic gray. we have loved all of them and they have all been great. se has all the tech stuff, sunroof and leather but fortunately no stop start stuff. basically have done all led interior lighting, all weather oem mats, oem mud flaps, in channel vent visors, washable cabin air and engine air filter(not k&n), led fog bulbs, better tires and rocky mount bike trays on oem racks. wife's car so mods complete.

    2007 v6......

First, what location would you likely be buying from?

It's pretty safe to assume you'll be paying about $40k OTD for an XLE AWD that's well equipped. All the Premiums I have seen tend to be non-AWD and run about the same cost. MSRP is at $34k.

There is some scarcity but the dealer I bought from got in a few XLE all at once shortly after I bought. As much as it pissed me off, I paid msrp + $3k. I tried pretty hard to get them to negotiate but the dealership greed is just too strong. I had the sales manager come out finally since my rep had gone back so many times. I think what pissed me off the most was I had to pay CA taxes on that shit, as well.

My dealer turned out to be the lower of Market Adjustment fees. Depending on Toyota "stand down" they're doing right now, I'm not certain how that effects things. I think it effects Taco but not sure about the Woodstock,Canada plant where lots of RAVs come from.

The best thing you can do is go and start talking with your local dealers. See where there at on the Adjustment and see what they have in allocation. You might get lucky and find one on the lot fresh off the truck, unsold.

If I did it again, I still wouldn't order. That seems to put you in a low priority class with Toyota. Everyone I have heard of ordering are still waiting and just getting the run around from some dealers while vehicles come in and are sold quickly. Though my dealer, as all do, have allocations coming in, they seriously don't know exactly when. Sales guy said they were all standing around BS'ing at the end of the day before I got mine and here comes a truck full of new cars! Toyota is building and shipping stuff people want. All the TRDs they were getting were Premiums so they covered the bases and then some. My XLE was not a premium but I'm okay with that. It has All Weather pkg, all LED, Mudflaps, moon roof, roof rack, all weather mats front-back and cargo, and more. All I wanted was SofTek seats but I'll save money by putting Clazzios in it anyway.

Before I got a taco my wife and I just had a rav4 (living in San Francisco). It's a 2018 LE AWD that we got used from Avis for just under 20k in 2019 with about 19,000 miles. After we moved to WA, I bought a taco and now the rav4 is wifes car.

Anyway, the car is great. I keep offering to upgrade it to a 4runner for wife but she won't let me. We've run it up some steep soft dirt roads and the AWD does the job. Overall though I just like it for city driving. It's light and after stepping into it from my Tacoma it actually feels like a sports car. The AT is 1000x better than the Tacomas (pre-tune) and the 2.5L engine shoots the rav4 around with ease. Cabin space in that gen isn't insane, probably on par with a tacoma to be honest... The nice thing is that the XE comes with the automatic cruise control thing, where it senses the car in front of you. My SR5 taco does NOT. That was pretty annoying. Cabin noise is high, but that's the same with all mid-range Toyotas it seems.

I've recently put an order in for a GR86 as my MT play thing, so I'm really interested keen to see how much that will kill my sense of a Rav4 being fast, when placed between a taco and an 86.

Anyway, this probably doesn't help that much when looking at 5th gens, but overall I think the 4th is a very reasonable car.

So I removed the charcoal filter on my 2021 hybrid this morning. Went for a 50 mile round trip doing some errands. Already seeing a 2.5 mpg increase.
