The auxiliary plug, is that from factory and does it tie into the radio for mp3 players?

Very good write up. going to move the Kenwood HU USB connector from the Glove box to a blank. Nice and easy and since it charges the Itouch its plenty strong enough

The 4x4 spot is not causing any problems.

I have one similar to that too. Can't remember the brand, but it actually has 2 usb ports in one.

I love how my 1st gen has 3 front cigarette plug ins :D Plenty for any situation.

    Bought this from NewEgg.xxx
Haven't received it yet, but going to be a summer project.
PS: $6.49 with free shipping. Shipped from China.
Never had a problem with shipping from China, but usually takes 2 to 3 weeks.
Hangup I think is at customs.
Anyways, I will figure out how to mount when it arrives.

Hey guys new to this tread so let me know if i'm doing something wrong.
Just picked up my first gen 2 Taco and I am excited to get some mods underway.
I picked up one of [IMG]these with the intention of running 12+ to one of [IMG]these in the fuse box for always-on power. I have seen some other do similar things but wanted your input on whether my theory was sound and if anyone had suggestions on which fuse to plug into?

I just installed a USB outlet I got from ch4x4.com. It's a perfect fit in the center console. For power I hooked up the trailer brake harness under the dash and ran the USB outlet to it. It's an always on power. Ran the ground to a screw under the steering column. I also changed the fuse from a 30a to a 10a. I just ordered a switch so I can turn the power off to the outlet when I'm not using it. I will post some pictures when I get the other switch installed. Mine is a 2015 model.

Just completed my own USB swap out, I was tired of those little adapters not providing enough amp to charge everything, and I didn't need 2 cigarette lighters. Since the circuit was already there and the hole was already present. I pulled my dash apart, and removed a cigarette lighter. Reamed the hole a little with my dremel to fit the socket. Instead of rewiring the factory "L" plug, I used my dikes and simply cut the plug itself at the joint and plugged it onto my USB socket. In all took about an 2½hrs, and a $14, Cllena Dual USB charger socket power outlet from Amazon. I think it came out looking clean.
