I haven't had very good results with the harness loom tape from Amazon.

I wouldn't count on it. It takes an afternoon just to clean the valve covers, and also overnight for the FIPG to set.

There are also other things to consider doing while you're in there. If you haven't touched your injectors- it's time. MotorWest for the upgraded ones. PCV Valve, and more importantly the grommet. It becomes very brittle over time- and it's a lot easier to get the chunks out with the valve cover in your hand. And lastly, there are a few very hard to reach vacuum lines under the main wire loom running across the rear of the block. It's a great time to replace them.

The tape is Tesa brand, it's held up for a good amount of time on the motorcycle loom I wrapped but thanks for the heads-up. I believe that Tim used aluminum HVAC-style tape.

Time table is noted. I plan on doing this over the weekend in my driveway so I'll be able to work at a reasonably sane pace lol. I'll look into upgraded injectors; as for the PCV valve, I replaced it with new last December and the grommet is still relatively pliable. I am considering going the catch-can route...last time I cleaned my IAC valve the throttle body showed evidence of recirculated oil from the crankcase. And I have some assorted diameter silicone hoses, so I'll see if I can swap out those 20 year-old vacuum hoses while I'm in there.

The thing that took the most time for me was fighting those fucking spark plug tube seals out. If anyone has any tips for freeing them please share. Make sure to get those cam plug and half moons, I didn't do the cam plugs and had to go back in after realizing the driver's side leaked :(

Definitely a good call to wait for the RTV/FIPG to cure as mentioned above.
