I'm trying to help someone find a good 3.4 liter 5vz engine. If anyone has any leads please let me know.

 

What are they swapping? I'll be in the lookout for one as well soon to swap into my 92 4Runner

 

I haven't seen it. The guy just called me about it. He said it's a Toyota Rv. It currently has the 3.0 in it.

 

Nice so we will be performing the same type of swap 3.0 to 3.4

 

Are the blocks different (other than the bore)?

 

Fairly certain they are different. Basically 2 entirely different animals.

 

Yeah I believe it's a totally different engine. The 3.0 had headgasket problems and I believe other issue too

 

The 3.0 3vz was a SOHC engine with shitty head gaskets and has almost no upgrade potential. it was generally rated at 150hp from factory

the 3.4 5vz was a DOHC engine that was pretty damn solid and could be upgraded for some extra ponies. it was generally rated at 190hp from factory

 

Yup there's a reason it's called the 3.slow haha. Depending on the year you are swapping it into it is usually just a straight forward swap besides the exhaust, hood clearance and wiring. But a few companies sell kits for those besides the hood obviously

 

If anyone uses Rigid power tools, Home depot is having a great sale on their batteries right now.

 

you referring to the 2 18v 4.0ah batteries/charger for $99? Or something better than that?

The normal ones or the Max Output ones? Huge difference in power from them. I'm still gona sell my Ridgid stuff eventually since they got rid of the bluetooth batteries. They had impacts outperforming Milwaukee with them.

 

Thank @CountryDan, he brought it up! lol I was asking if there was something better than that 2 4.0ah deal though; HD runs that price on them pretty frequently, but its still a good buy anytime they do!

 

Well when I read your post I went to the site looking for them. But yes I guess I have the same question @CountryDan Is there better deals also we don't know about?

 

Side note, I've followed alot of SOS threads for a while, and know there may be some supporters around here; looks like mods just shut them down from doing sales promotions at all on TW. Lack of communication/unfulfilled orders. Hate to say I saw it coming from many many miles away.

 

I havent heard back from them in a month on my order and its about 3 weeks overdue now. Guess I'll try to refund my stuff and break out the cardboard.

 

I don't care what company it is, If I have paid for something and then get ghosted on comms. I'm starting my charge back. Too many good companies out there to be jerked around and time wasted.
