I need lots of owners of the retrax pro XR cover posted on this forum. Can one of you do me a favor and measure from the bulkhead out for how much space the container takes into the bed of the truck? I want to be able to put my mountain bike in the back using a tailgate pad and I need to know how much space and if it will fit before I shell out the money. I see multiple different answers I would like a definitive measurement :)

So when retracted, the lip of the cover protrudes past the canister about an inch. I measured the length from outmost edge of the beds bulkhead (unless I misunderstood bulkhead) to the outer most edge of the cover and it was a little more than 14".
If I can help further, please let me know. PXL_20210304_232156848.jpg

    Hey JK,
Would you mind getting a measurement from the inside of the tailgate (up/closed) to the retrax (open)? I'd like to know how much bed length is lost.
    Thanks!

I measured 47" of open bed length with the tailgate closed and to the edge of the Retrax cover, while it was open on my truck. I do have the 5 foot bed.

Thanks for the link. I'm trying to keep the ability to use a bed rack for skis etc. Kids a races and needs 5+ skis just for a race series... Wish they made the long bed with a manual trans..
I digress, which means I need the ability to put a cargo box on top as SG skis are 212 cm long or 6.9' long.
