    Same crap everyone else got
Some use the rifle buffer to get their 11.5 pistols to an overall length of over 26 so they can run a vert grip. That's when Lenth of pull factors in I believe.

At works so can't watch the video but basically the way it goes down:

want a stock on a short barrel: sbr with tax stamp
want a brace on short barrel: no issues.
want an adjustable brace on a short barrel: no issues and use a standard buffer tube.
want a vert grip on a pistol: needs to be over 26 inches in over all length with Length of pull under 13.5
using a rifle buffer tube helps those achieve this length b/c it's longer than a carbine buffer tube. and the 11.5 with a cabine buffer measured from end of buffer tube to end of barrel without muzzle device is just under 26in most times.

My 10.5 with a carbine buffer from end to end was 26.5 inches. I had to change out the muzzle break and now its 26. Im slapping the SB3 brace on there so it should be legal according to what you just said.

I might have a touch of OCD with certain things
I have both, but I have never used a vertical grip on either my pistols(becomes SBR at that point regardless of brace or stock) or rifles.
    There's a few missing:rofl:

You need to measure from the end of the buffer tube to the end of the barrel without a muzzle device unless your muzzle device is pin and welded to your barrel...Doubting you're gonna be at 26

If you're over 26 inches it's considered something you can't conceal so it's not an AOW. If under 26 inches and you add a vert grip I believe at that point you have made and AOW.

A firearm is a firearm is a firearm. They all do the same thing. Stock, brace, vertical foregrip, it’s all silly really.

Is that 26” with the brace fully extended or retracted? That’s where the confusion comes in for me. Honestly, I just carry a traditional pistol. I know a lot of LEO are not gun guys, and may not know what distinguishes a Ar pistol, from an SBR.

    Favorite single stage triggers?

I have an MBT-2S in the rifle and a standard milspec in the pistol. Leaning towards and MBT-1S in the pistol.
