LOL.. would just scrounge up some wood sticks and throw them in a rock circle. Propane was too expensive.

That looks great. Three of us will be going. Each person brings two wood bundles and cooks for the others each night. Will be out for 3 nights.

3 trucks, or 3 people in one rig?

Pretty cool taking turns, and if you're all cooking for each other, makes it easy as you're only bringing enough food for 3 but specifically to make dinner for 1 night only.

Unless you're talking back in the day

Propane is cheap! Especially the larger tanks. They have adapters/hoses to use those larger tanks with smaller camp stoves like the one I've got.

Everybody has a winch and built-up rig. I've been out with these guys a dozen times but for short day trips.

    Nice!

So all you have to worry about is snacks, breakfast, and beer. Plenty of beer!

Where ya guys headed off to? Technical trail?

I see the Overlanders buying those expensive ass scottles and whatnot.

A fridge would be cool, but I can't dedicate such a thing to live in my rig. Some are ok with it.

I did treat myself to a knife set though recently. Have yet to use it but I will next month. Will come in handy next time for steaks as we've taken and made filet mignon while camping before.

I’ll pile on a bit with random thoughts

making meals before hand and pre chopping stuff makes life easy

don’t overlook powdered milk, it’s really easy if you need some milk for a recipe instead of dealing with fresh

coconut oil packs easy, even without refrigeration

Hard cheeses are easy to care for as well

meals that take as few pots as possible are great, sometimes you can even brown the meat and then just add whatever to make a sauce in the same pan

don’t overlook good containers, rodents love poorly packed food. Bears will tear car doors open for it in some cases

I prefer white gas for everything, as I don’t like non reusable containers. That said, I picked up an adapter for filling the small propane tanks recently, gonna try that out

A lot of good camping cookware can be found at estate sales and garage sales. Steel and cast iron are nice but heavy, aluminum is light and cooks well. Titanium is light AF but is a poor heat conductor

I really like to organize into kits - tent/sleeping, food , cooking , etc. makes it easy to setup away from the vehicle and easy to load up before a trip if I make sure to restock after the previous one

Find yourself a plow disc and a couple of horseshoes and you can weld a skottle. They’re neat if you’ve got a bunch of people to feed

I've got a room full of cooking utensils and plastic storage containers. Cast ironware.

    Yep!

+1 on aluminum cookware for sure, and organizing stuff. As well as storage containers. I always carry several of those latching "lunch" box containers to store food I just cooked while I make other food.

I have 3 Frontrunner Wolfpacks and they're so nice for packing stuff up and organizing.

Not to take away from @Kwikvette ’s gracious offer at all, but if you need that modeled to generate design files (.stp, .igs, etc.) , let me know.

Can usually find them on sale at Target as a 3 or 5 pack.
