I think that I will stick with the Taco for now over EV or a hybrid Taco if they make them. Still the Hydrogen Fuel car is interesting. Just saying.

Do you think an EV will never have a battery fire that damages a piece of roadway infrastructure?

I never expected a freighter to run aground in the Chesapeake Bay.

    How’s that different than ICE?

EV fires burn at higher temperatures and require copious amounts of water to extinguish and cool the batteries. That's the difference.

If I drove an EV I wouldn't anticipate it catching fire, or be concerned about a potential battery fire. Same as driving an ice vehicle, I don't anticipate it catching fire.

How many freighters have been in Chesapeake Bay?

I’m sure it’s more than one.

IMHO BEV is the middle man to HFCEV. Once they tackle hydrogen production effectively BEV and HFCEV's will have a long battle. I believe China and Norway are leaders in Green Hydrogen production.

That would be a question for the insurance company. You would have ask them what they cover when buying a policy for a BEV.

What I'm saying is. That BEV has the potential to cause greater damage to infrastructure.

this is all normal stuff for a car not a truck so bringing it up is pointless for this thread.. with that being said.... im already seriously thinking about a 2025 EV Tacoma. as of right now to what is available as a EV Truck im not sold yet.. The Rivian caught my eye till i seen the price tag. the tesla truck is way to ugly.. soon we will have many EV truck options tho.

The next 5 years will be great that we will have a choice of gas or electric new car purchases. In about 15-20 years, we might not have a choice of gas powered cars anymore.

If they don’t build charging stations under overpasses or in tunnels, probably going to be ok…though always a risk of an accident. We had an accident here a few years ago that caused damage to an overpass.

I think the question is whether or not you know of an example where a car malfunctioned and caught fire and burned an overpass and the jurisdiction sent the driver a bill.

Tesla service when I've used it has come to my home with the service vehicle being a Tesla! Looks cool to have 2 Tesla's in my driveway.

I’ve had both the Model S service vehicle and the Transit service vehicle. This guy had a nice AluCab awning on his too. There’s something to be said for having them come to you for service rather than the “old way” of dropping your car off at the dealership. They were replacing the Takata airbags in this pic.
