That really sucks

 

It does and, 100% honesty, at this point I've let OP know even a half way refund would work for me but he won't go there. It sucks. I don't even have my Taco anymore.

 

Update: Had a local shop tear the headlight apart to fix the dead solenoid. The projector is put together with jb weld(fairly clean job) but not serviceable. They’re trying to crack it all apart to replace the projector. So I will have bright lights by the end of day. They checked all the wiring and it’s all good just a dead solenoid.

 

Also, ordered a set from this company so if anyone wants these lights or knows someone who needs some, I’ll get rid of them at a discount once mine come in. By the time I’m done with them, they will work as promised haha

 

The JB weld is pretty standard procedure in retrofitting fyi. It's good because you don't run the risk of the vibrating apart offroad.

They will work now haha just cost me more money. Gonna just sell these once my lights come in. Should be about a month.

 

Billy they can still pop the shroud off with a little force and get to that solenoid. It’s used for backup to ensure shroud doesn’t come off projector in use

 

I’ve offered to ship them back and I will fix that at no cost. I can just continue to build and do right. I’m trying guys

 

Updated rusty shackle paint scheme change requested and assemble and shipping next week

 

They literally couldn’t just pop it off. There was a lot of jb weld holding it on. They showed me. They also found a pin that was broken off the solenoid that either was holding on by it’s last thread when you bench tested them, or you didn’t bench test it. Either way, it shouldn’t have happened.

As for shipping them back, I told you I can’t afford to be without lights. I also can’t wait for you to get to them at your leisure. So I’m left with getting them fixed on my own dime. I’m just updating this thread with what I have to do to get them to the level of what I paid for and will continue to do so.

 

What did they charge you to fix it

 

$100 for labor and donated a new projector since it was faster to just replace it.

What about @Sterdog? He's out 2k and never recieved lights at all. He's had it the worst compared to those who waited forever and/or recieved lights with issues.
