3.4L supercharger

THIS thread is HUGE! I bought a '98 T100 yesterday, 3.4 with TRD supercharger. This thing will not stay running at idle unless I throw it in neutral. Thinking of removing the charger but will likely try Seafoam, MAF clean, check IAC first. Plugs & wires were just changed. I know little about the 3.4.
I've only owned, in this order: 3.0, 4.0, 2.4, 4.0, 5.7 and now 3.4...

 

Yeah, lots of possibilities. If you clean the throttle body, remove the IAC first so no gunk gets down into it to further gum up its functionality.

What fuel management is on the setup now? A 7th injector or the like?

 

I have no idea on the fuel mngmt. I'll snap a photo tomorrow when it's not raining & cold, ty for reply.

 

Finally got the supercharger back from the rebuilder. Rough installed last night and she’s running great. Anyone with a first gen s/c have a picture of your grounding bracket? I don’t have one so I might have to make one.

Do you mean the engine hook bracket? I can't see one in your picture.
Also you might look into the nose cone support bracket @mechanicjon makes.

 

The engine lift bracket is there. I’m talking the ground that gets attached to the manifold that’s like 2 inches long. I’ve seen some brackets in pictures with two 10mm bolts holding it to the supercharger. For now I used the bracket for the throttle cable, drilled a hole and bolted it temporarily.

The support bracket will be my next purchase along with spark plugs. My main goal was to make sure I had everything for the initial install.

Your throttle cable is coming off the wrong location and direction, fyi, it should be attached with a bolt ( yellow circle) coming straight out

 

Yeah it’s half assed at the moment, definitely missing parts that I will have to source to make it correct. Not too much information out there for our first gen s/c so I appreciate you guys for sure.
I’ll probably have some more questions to come when I can sit down and go through everything. Just getting back into it after a 3 month tour.

Too bad you didn’t have a hole drilled to check the supercharger oil on the snout, maybe next time when it gets serviced

 

Im in the process of trying to get another snout to make those modifications. I want to have a spare just incase things go south. I just wish they were easier to obtain.

 

Another question for you though…I’m assuming that the bypass actuator vacuum line has to be routed back to the rotors…does it go from the bypass actuator to the small nipple under the 90 degree elbow? I’ve seen contradicting photos for the routing of that line and want to be 100 percent sure.

Not sure what to attempt, let me see if pictures and videos can speak for themselves.. the S/C sounds terrible to me but I have never had one. Not sure on the motor, cannot hear it over this charger.. Throwing P0325 and P0330

Sc will make noise at idle, but a worn coupler will make it sound worse. It may be time to rebuild/overhaul.
Looks like that fuse could be in the knock sensor wire, but it may be a different wire altogether. Trace it.
Where is your Pcv vent tube routed? (From passenger valve cover)
Where is back of driver valve cover vent tube going?
What spark plugs are you running?
