So far just a tailgate light bar and replaced the backup lights with LEDsl Eventually I'd like to put a topper on it but not many options out there yet. I'm leaning towards a Hi-rise type just for the room. But then again it would be nice to keep the truck in the garage :)
Has anyone figured out exactly why the hood vibrates/shakes and what has been a fix???

What I have personally figured is the 1) the latch can't be adjusted down; 2) the metal/cross support flexes
I'm afraid that eventually something is going to give and have my hood go flying up while driving down the road.

Try to adjust the rubber bushings. If they are old and broken then try to see if you can buy some somewhere.

So I've tried adjusting the bushings out at the corners of the hood to the point where it's pushing up the hood past the fenders (not flush) and the hood still vibrates a bit but better. However I shouldn't have to adjust them down that far just to stop the shaking hood.

Is the entire hood shaking like it's not latched properly or is the sheet metal itself vibrating from the wind/driving down the road?

It's like the entire hood shakes. I would keep thinking that I forgot to latch it but discover it was latched.

The front bushings are adjustable, adjust them until it stops.

If your latch is secure and the stops properly adjusted, the hood will not blow off. What you are likely seeing is the hood skin shaking.

Guessing the bonding material between the hood skin and frame has spots detached or MIA.

Verify that. If correct, easy to fix.

To All Tacos Float..... !st off I assume you're prior Navy .... Thank you for your service shipmate. To clear things I had a '17 DCSB (lease) but traded it for an '08 Tacoma DCLB. The hood vibrates/shakes as if I had not latched it down but it is. I've tried adjusting the dampeners down and it has helped but squelched it. Soooo I post my question..... in hopes of a solid answer. I see someone had suggested hood pins. I don't rule that out, but still I wonder if I'm the only one with this problem.

Also to continue from my last..... The confusion on my present Tacoma is the fact that I can't / have yet to figure out how to update my status/information. Any help on that????

To also help visualize the problem the hood raises up and down driving interstate speeds even with the adjustable rubber stoppers pushing the corners of the hood up.

There are also 2 rubber dampeners in the fender channel where the right and left sides of the hood rests. When I bought my 07, it had a similar issue. Took me awhile of looking to notice something so simple, but after replacing the missing piece, the shaking is much reduced.
