Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

There has been some minor Tony nonsense as of late and it appears he is in rehab. Meanwhile, “the big guy” persists in being a pain in the ass with his maniac driving, loud crappy music, and constant high speed passes on his dirt bike. Ironically, this is the same crap I used to do as a kid, and am sure, really pissed of my parent’s neighbors. Karma...

I decided to look up the property owner via the county recorder. Once I had a name, I found his email address and contacted him about what had gone on at the property. I was happy to find out he was concerned about the police responses and problems with the neighbors. He contacted the family via the property manager. They gave him a very convoluted story about Tony’s mental illness and how the state need to take care of Tony. They insisted no criminal activity had occurred. However, I had already sent the owner a copy of the police calls to the residence and the court records of the case against Tony and the various citations against Tony and other residents in the house. The owner was not happy. After doing some homework, he decided to boot Tony and his shiftless relatives.

In the meantime, Tony’s family sent all the neighbors a letter wanting them to help convince the property owner everything’s okay... They must live in an alternate reality if they think the same people they have endlessly pissed of and had conflicts with would want them to stay. I suspect Tony’s wife, who has not lived there for about a year due to his abuse wrote the letter and may not really know what has gone on. One of my neighbors came by to ask me if I had gotten one of the letters. He thought it was ridiculous and was ticked of that the family wanted the state to take care of Tony. I told him Tony’s relatives were in for a big surprise when the state takes Tony’s social security, retirement, savings, whatever Tony’s name is on, when it comes time to pay for it all. There is no free lunch.

As all of this has gone on, probation has conducted a check, which actually looked like a raid (people cuffed and on the curb, vests, weapons out, a dog), and the owner decided he was going to sell the property as he thought it might be better for the neighborhood to have it owner occupied as opposed to rented.

In the end, this is probably the best answer. Property is fairly expensive here and the homes that have been sold in the past few years are taken care of and have been improved. I hope this continues.

No more evening entertainment, but I think I have had enough and am ready to go back to a quiet neighborhood, not have neighbors straight out the hood.

Time to pack all their shit and get out. 60 days. I bet the behavior ramps up before they leave though. That seems about right.

My neighbor across the street is always hanging out in his running truck. It's parked just barely off the street and he usually leaves the headlights on so it's very noticeable.
I first noticed it right after I moved in. We had a huge ice storm and lost power for 4-5 days. I have a generator so I was fine and warm. After the event when I met the guy real quick he said they didn't have a generator so maybe he was sitting in the vehicle to charge his phone or warm up.... But he keeps doing it pretty much every night. Sometimes alone, sometimes with his wife.
The house is a rental, and he has "kids"(the girl looks to be in her 20's). My guess is possibly doing drugs and doesn't want them in the house or near the kids.

I’ll be counting the days :fingerscrossed:

Funny how some of the things I did as a kid piss me off as an adult. I must be getting old. It’s one thing riding wheelies up and down the street when you’re 16, the guy across the street is 45.

Dirt bikes:bikewheelie2:,skateboard ramps, burn outs:burnrubber:, parties :bananadance:,and loud music :rimshot:I feel like I should apologize to my parent’s neighbors. :anonymous:

I was such a shithead too! My wife’s ex husband and I lived on that street and we were “those kids”. I’m sure some of the neighbors were glad when we left. Some might still be in therapy.
Parenting was a lot more “free range” in the 80s and there was far too much unsupervised time and too many things to get into. I kept a much tighter rein on my own kids behavior.
I wouldn’t trade it for anything though. Growing up in So Cal in the 70s and 80s was a lot of fun. Hopefully, nothing left any scar tissue.

Id say my neighbors would say Im the lunatic. Met 3 of the 4 close neighbors breasting out birds in my driveway. Not too long afterwards i was cleaning a skull for a euro mount in my back yard ended up getting some meat in my mouth while pressure washing. After some cussing, puking, and throwing the pressure washer against the fence I hear the neighbor ask "You alright?". It's been a few years now so id assume they're used to me processing animals in the garage.

I would bet there are stories going around your neighborhood about how you are some psycho killer. You probably have all the kids thinking there is some sort of Michael Meyers situation going on. You know... you could have some fun with a set of coveralls, a mask... you see where I'm going here.

    Bull shit!

We all turned out decent because the ' rents were not hovering over us 24/7.

So many kids today are so tightly scheduled, they have no opportunity to fuck up and experience the results of these poor decisions. They have no idea what mistakes feel like. They never were allowed to make any.

You make a good point. There were some important lessons learned about responsibility when you screw up, and how to solve the problems you create. You are right, kids are too tightly scheduled and hovered over. I've done some hovering myself.

Kids today still screw up but it is recorded on a video for everyone else to see and constantly remind the kid of the screwup

I am beyond thankful that my rebellious years of debauchery and dumb decisions ended (mostly) right before smart phones came about and social media exploded.

Our Nokia brick phones weren't able to record our nonsense

Well this neighbor was more stupid I guess, but he sure got crazy. It was in the winter and I went back home to visit my parents in NWI. Their next door neighbor was a dentist with multiple offices and a short temper. I woke up to about a foot of snow on the driveway and my built ‘95 Dakota 318 with big fat street tires, a 4.5” drop and a performance gear: I wasn’t going anywhere. So I figured I’d go out and shovel the driveway. As I trudged through the deep snow, I heard ol’ Rick the dentist next door, outside yelling at his kids as per usual. Nothing new there. I overheard him yelling, “Where’d they go?!?! You better find ‘em!!!” They had a pair of fun but absolutely knuckleheaded yellow labs who were well known for getting into hijinks around the neighborhood. Friendly as could be but always getting into something. So Rick sees me and yells, “Hey man!!! Can you help me? I chopped my $&#%ing hand off!”

    Now that’s unexpected , I thought.

It wasn’t the dogs that he was screaming about finding: it was his fingers. Finally my VFD training would be put to use. I ran inside to tell my dad to give Rick a ride to the hospital, since my truck wasn’t going anywhere. I got a towel for Rick to wrap his hand up and had my mom get a plastic baggie with a damp cloth for transporting whatever bits I could find. Turns out Rick jammed up his snowblower and since it was off, he didn’t realize the blades would still be under tension. He not-too-wisely decided to stick his hand in there and clear it. He cleared it all right - along with 4 fingers. My dad managed to get his Avalon out of the driveway and got Rick to the hospital. I was sifting through the snow along with 3 of his absolutely hysterical daughters, unsuccessfully, until I thought, “We should be looking IN the snowblower.” We were looking in the thrown snow. Sure enough, I started pulling out fingers - still in their gloves thankfully. The last one however was the worst. One of the girls spotted it before me, and grabbed it, holding it right in front of my face, screaming, “what the hell is that?!?!??” Referring of course to the few inches of apparent tendon dangling within millimeters of my nose; I swear I smelled it. Once I returned my nearly escaped breakfast back to its proper digestion location, I bagged the digits and started digging out my truck. I was adrenaline motivated so I got it unburied relatively quickly and miraculously got it out on to the unplowed roads. Maybe it was my snowplow of an aftermarket air dam, but I made it to the hospital unscathed, with my gruesome shipment.

Too bad for Rick, the blade chopped, or more precisely tore, the fingers off and the damage was too blunt for a successful reattachment. Unfortunate. Or was it?

Turns out, since his hands were his living, he had them insured with Lloyds of London or something for some insane 7 figure amount of dough. So he sold his practice, also for a tidy sum, got into dental education and up n moved to some stately mansion in south FL.

    No concern about snowblowers there.
