Can you tell me the date you made the initial order/deposit? I'm just wondering when I might hear something about the one I ordered a few weeks ago. They told me 4 to 6 months until delivery but don't know when I'll hear something. Thx

I'm a Dewalt guy but I couldn't help but buy the packout system over the Dewalt garbage. Its super expensive but the quality is unmatched for sure.

I called the dealership on Feb 12, 2022 and was told that they get their allocation on Thursday Feb 17, 2022. I gave them the details of what I wanted. got the call afternoon placed a deposit on a AG TRD OF 4WD. which was the only TRD OF in the list everything else was sports 2wd

Ok. The dealer I used had a few coming in that were not at all what I wanted. He had me do a build sheet order and told me at least 4 months until one is allocated. I don't think they're actually gonna build one for me?? Maybe just wait until they can get that exact one that I want.

the sales guy said you can request a built custom whatever you want to Toyota but might take up to 6 months, not guarantee he said.He also said Toyota just gives them whatever in their allocation.

Its my understanding, from several sources that dealers have a wish list and Toyota tries to match what dealers want but yeah its definitely a crap shoot.

That is definitely not true. You can request an allocation of something but you can't necessarily "custom build" a request. Basically if you stick to one dealer you're playing the lottery. Best way to win is to have multiple "allocation request" in at several dealers if you want something specific. I wanted one color only, had to be DCSB w/premium offroad. I had several names in hats across texas but went outside my state when I got tired of waiting and didn't see that many 4wd coming to texas with options I was looking for. If you're really stuck on a "built" truck which I assume you mean all the options you want start calling every week and try building want you want on Toyota Website with different zip codes. If it makes you change colors or drop an option then that means they don't have on in the pipeline either being built in future or on its way to that zip code. I just kept changing zips and was able to call a dealer in missouri that Toyota allowed me to build the truck I wanted in that zip. The dealer I called just so happened to tell me that it was being built in 3-4 weeks and I could place my deposit on it today and it would be there in a couple months. I only gave a deposit once they gave me a temp vin assuring me that they were actually receiving the truck.

Edit: I was told by several different dealers that they had a higher chance of allocation because they were a "higher volume dealer" and got more request sent their way. Amazing how many of them said that and then requested a 500-1500 deposit with no vin. The one almost put a deposit down with told me they're customer satisfaction approval rating was the best in texas and they had the better chance to get what they wanted. They also told me about 8-12 weeks. I got it quicker than that by doing what I described above and calling different place about twice a week.

I’m up in Canada and just got a call from my dealer. My 6MT PRO that was “in production” just got pulled by Toyota. It’s not going to be built because of parts shortages. Mainly blind spot monitoring. My dealer had all of their OR and Sport premiums pulled as well. He thinks that will be it for PRO’s this year. and any premium that got bumped will have to be reordered and hope they get built. Happy Saturday.

So blind spot monitoring is part of the Technology package on the Sport/Off-Roads and included in Pros?
