Not gonna argue semantics with you all night, I've got more important things to handle than babysit.

 

When have you ever seen a dyno done in the "normal driving range" at 10-25% throttle at under 3k RPM? What a dumb comment. Any dyno chart you ever see is WOT regardless of what RPM it starts at.

That said, this tune has a ton more power at lower RPM's under normal driving. With 33's on stock gearing my truck will accelerate in higher gears under 2k RPM without a downshift, holds 6th gear more than stock tune even up slight uphills, and hold higher gears where stock tune and KDMax Pro would have to downshift to maintain speed.

 

Are you disabling dynamic radar and using regular CC? From I've seen/read, tunes have more control during radar disabled CC as the safety features of dynamic CC are a lot harder to override.

I haven't used CC since I got the Nexus +P tune but I'll give it a try on my commute to work (~35 freeway miles at 75mph over mostly rolling but some steeper hills) this upcoming week and let you know how it does.

 

Questionable who tested what. Was it you, was it "banned member"... Jury is out. Best of luck to you as well, and whatever group you both identify with now.

I typically leave the dynamic cc on but the issue I'm describing doesn't involve the dynamic function.

I just want to know about open road shifting on the highway with cruise control. I'm not usually blasting around town WOT so HP gains don't interest me much.

 

I approached you guys wanting to test this tune to see if it was worth adding to my offerings. I made that clear when I bought it. My tuning business is focused on selling the best tune made on the best software for each vehicle I tune. I’m no longer exclusive to one tune or one software and there is a network of us around the country doing the same thing. Our loyalty is to our customers, not a tune or software. I/we were testing your product. We push whatever is the “best” tune after testing every tune available. “Best” is subjective, which is again why myself and others sell more than one tune.

The tune I was provided was after your dyno data was posted and the tune was being marketed for sale. It was loaded, it was datalogged, it was analyzed. If you still sent me a beta file when I paid full price, I’m not sure who should be mad at who here…

If nothing else, you get free thread bumps…

You're single-handedly starting to make the group you associate with look pretty bad. And I've never had an issue with anyone else and their tunes (besides "banned member" for other reasons that aren't relevant at this time). Which is unfortunate because I have a pretty good relationship with some of those guys.

Appreciate the thread bump! I did it for your group with an MT customer who was seeking a specific throttle feel and I happily chimed in to provide assistance/clarity to what they were asking for. And I hope it got the ball rolling for them, because I don't mind helping anyone, regardless of their tune preference. Guess that's the difference between you and I.

There's still no solid solution for adaptive cruise control. Tuning it off will have the most consistent results in shifting. @ktbell444 is our fancy feature tester.

 

Running dyno pulls at low rpm/speed are bad for both the dyno and the engine. Without going into the overall components operation of the equipment, this is why you don't see it done from a dead stop and is generally performed from 3k-4k rpm (dyno operator dependent).

Most engines do not make a bunch of power in the lower rpms and putting a load on it the way a dyno does is more harm than good. We understand this is a truck and MOST people could care less about high end power charts, but there are others that have to see these as proof. Simply put, it performs well under all rpm ranges. We'll be putting a truck on the rollers again soon.

 

Our tuning businesses aim at developing the best and safest tune available. If there was an intent to log and analyze that would have been really nice to know up front so we could have more data or heck even usable feedback. However, this was not done, it was all done under the radar, and then belittled by "banned member" on Facebook. I think it remains to be seen why someone would purchase a tune, for a vehicle they don't own, "all in the name of science" then provide nothing useful to the development team. So, yeah, there's a bit of bad taste left from the transaction. We just chalked it up as lessons learned and moved on, but I digress.

Why is it still in beta? Because it's not perfect yet. We've seen and found things WE want to improve. Some from user feedback, some from in-house. We have dedicated testers that we work with and provide logs aside from our own logs we run daily. Some of us have had personal setbacks get in the way of testing and development progress. If our continued improvement is upsetting because of the cost then I guess our time to make it means nothing. We all have lives, families, and things going on aside from this tune which takes time away from the previous. The peanuts we make off selling files here does not make up for time lost.

We've tried to be as up front with everyone from the OP and remain true to that. No smoke and mirrors. No dishonest numbers or false claims. No dyno trickery. What we tested is what we sell in Nexus +P, minus gearlock and a fully locked torque converter which is ideal on the dyno for best results, but is not ideal for everyday use. Honestly and transparency is something we take seriously, and quite frankly we don't have the stomach for otherwise given the past events from certain groups in the community. We will continue pressing forward with perfecting Nexus and as previously stated will provide customers who purchased files for their vehicles updates.

to reset values, even though I tuned already. Which of these is it again?

 

I do all 3 (Reset ECM, Clear TCU, Clear DTC).

 

I can add some feedback on this as a customer (although mine's a 2017, not 2020 like yours).
I regularly make a trip from Pittsburgh to State College PA to visit one of my offices, this is a very hilly route and mostly highway speeds between 55-70 MPH depending on the particular stretch of road.
In the past, on OVTune 2.0 (and stock FWIW) I've had the same experience as you with crazy shifting when using CC at highway speed climbing hills. To the point that I'd often just turn CC off for the hills and handle it myself.

Yesterday I had a meeting in State College so I made the trip for the first time since updating to Nexus +P and I can definitely say that for these hills CC handled things MUCH better. I never once felt the need to turn CC off on the hills, I mean it still wasn't perfect but neither is my wife's Rav4 on the same trip
I also logged 1.5-2 MPG increase over the last few trips so that helps too.

 

That's good feedback man I appreciate it. I've basically quit using the CC altogether myself - it's just not enjoyable at all.

 

I wish I had more feedback on overall mileage, but the VAST majority of my driving is short trips in stop and go city and suburb traffic, so those numbers are all over the board. The trip yesterday was my first good highway trip since Nexus +P so I could actually get a good comparison to previous results on the same trip.
