I have a 09 Tacoma with the TRD Sport Off-road package and its all stock. I"m going to replace the shocks and struts.I'm not going to replace them with the Bilsteins that came on the truck. Since I don't take it off road I want to put just ordinary stuff. After surfing the Internet, I get confused about what to buy. Some say with or without TRD, some are for Prerunners or Extended cab trucks. So help me out guys, what should I buy? I don't want the off-road stuff or real expensive shocks. I've been looking at Monroe, Gabriel, and other shocks like this. Thanks!

Oh there will be some mods all right
I find that for regular everyday driving KYB is a great choice. Decent pricing and good ride quality.

Your truck doesn’t have struts. It has coilovers and there is likely no reason to replace anything other than the shock absorbers. The coil springs and leaf springs will likely last the life of the truck. If you want to put budget shocks on your truck and you intend to install them yourself, it’s as simple as visiting the local car parts store. If you don’t intend to install them yourself, then visit a shop you trust and get their recommendation.

My Eibach Pro-Truck (OE replacement) are nice. Good ride quality.

Don't confuse these with the Pro-Truck Sport series which is for lifted rigs.
