How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

Mine is due the third week of april too.When did you place the order for yours? I think you will discover that the only exterior lighting that is LED is the daytime running lights and the cargo/bed light.

 

Put a deposit down yesterday. Dealer told me the truck has been built and will be there at the end of April. I did the dealer site thing. Ran the vin shows 4-17 to 4-22 delivery. It has no stock number though.. Does that mean this is still the temporary vin?

 

March 16. Salesman said anywhere between 3 weeks and a couple of months unless they can find the same truck sitting at another dealer

 

Howdy, all. I've just made an account, but been following this thread for a little while and have found it helpful while waiting on my AG DCLB. Mine would be coming from the Baja California plant and bound for the Mountain West.

Thought I'd pitch in my experience so far.

2/20 (Roughly) Got lucky and found an MSRP dealer with the allocation I wanted, put a deposit down - Delivery estimate was early april
3/11 Was the build date provided
3/15 Temporary VIN stopped working. Text from dealer updated ETA to mid-April
3/19 Permanent VIN showed up on dealer website. Signed up for the Toyota app.

Since then, I've been using the 'Inspect' trick to check for any eta, and checking the Toyota app daily. Nothing changed on either of them for longest time - no gas, no mileage.

3/25 - I noticed the VSPEC changed to reflect that the skid plate apparently didn't end up being installed. I'm fine with that, it was just part of the allocation.

3/27 - Today 2 miles, and 1/8 tank of gas finally showed up in the app. But the interesting thing is the reading is from 3/15 - meaning it had those miles and gas added the same day my temporary VIN stopped working. Not sure why it took a while to get updated in the app. I was thinking, perhaps it means it's made it to the US and started pinging towers? (i.e. since it's USDM maybe the 4g built in does not work in MX? Spitballin'.)

Still no ETA in VSPEC, but status has been in 'F' for a while.

 

Yeah the auto is pretty terrible, I guess they can get better with a tune but haven't drove one that has had that done. I hate to poop on anyones parade but if you are a MT guy, I highly doubt you will be happy with the AT Toyota puts in these trucks.

My dealer got the allocation for a Lunar Rock Trail Edition on 11/26. I placed my deposit on it 1/1. The truck was built 1/25. On 3/8 the mileage/fuel/psi showed up in the app and vpec sheet showed 3/28-4/2 as the eta. 3/23 the eta disappeared and my dealer told me its being held for inspection with no new eta. Another dealer told me if the inspection hold doesn't show an eta it can be 60, 90 or 120 days and if it's less than 60 days it will show a new eta. This has been fun

 

nope, not at all. I know exactly what to expect. I've driven my buddy's '20 OR Auto many many times and I don't see this huge issue everyone blahs about. It's a truck, it is a tacoma truck, it drives like one and more importantly, it is a reliable one that will last you a looooooong time . If I get the itch for manual and speed, then I will just drive my 5.0 GT. lol

 

Toyota's allocation process has almost driven me away a few times and still waiting trying to find something. Ford is just as a mess as toyota but at least you can order something and wait.

 

I truly think it matters what kind of terrain you take the truck. I remember going to trade my 2018 questioning if i was making the right decision on trading it. The car was hunting and shifting all over the place on the ride to the dealership, and i knew i was doing right. But again, i live around mountains so it’s very “in your face” every time i got behind the wheel. My buddy has an auto and lives on Long Island (flat) and doesn’t have the same experience. Al

 

Been waiting for 2 months now and its due in early as tomorrow. Just checked the app and it moved a mile and tires aired down to 33. This mean shes at the dealer ?

 

Fortunately for toyota I fell in love with the tacoma and am dead set on one. Between that, getting an allocation for an ideal spec of mine and the fact that I've already purchased a lot of mods for it, I have to stick it out for as long as it takes... but if the tacoma was only one of a few trucks I was looking at and I knew in advance that i would be waiting 3-6x the month wait they told me when i put a deposit down, I would have passed on Toyota for sure

 

if theres a letter in the last 6 i think of the vin its temp. like mine had a B in the vin in last 6 and then real vin last 6 were all numbers.

 

I think thats DFW as I feel like I've seen this truck and photos before.

 

Damn thaty sucks, my ETA was the same as yours same production time too.. Built 3/9 temp vin stopped working 3/11 and got new vin. Truck showed up at dealer 3/24 tho.

 

That was when mine changed air pressure the day they picked it up from the rail yard and I doubt the rail yard changes the pressure. The truck are strapped to truck by the tire/wheel so i assume the dealer lowers the pressure back down when they get it.

 

That is pretty damn fast, and gives me some hope being only 4 days behind your build and vin dates. You worked with dealer in MO if I read correctly? Built in TMMGT or TMMBC?

I can only seem to view gas and mileage in the app - no tire pressure. Not even a null value.

 

I may go up to the dealer and look

 

Has your Vspec stopped working? Mine stopped same day as I kept checking it at work.

 

Just checked and eta actually moved back 2 days. Went from 3-28 to 3-30.
