diff drop reduces ground clearance and causes you to break more things worse with it

I have 2/3” front lift with no CV boot issues I don’t know why you would even do it. they also sell longer red colored CV boots for higher lift angles.

If anything I’ll take some height out of the front to try solving positive camber and let the suspension work better by improving downtravel

then that skid plate isn’t high enough and defeats the point of having one.
JD Fab skid is probably the highest with a hair of room between it and the diff.

probably the best rear bumper on the market. Hollow tubing which might save some weight.
design language that matches the Tacoma body and sliders

I kind of regret not ordering it with swingouts already installed
    Think about getting swingout(s)
No idea how tricky install is to add separately. Hoping the $600 kit includes everything (single pass side)? And maybe just gets eyeball positioned before tac welds then burning it in. like looking straight vertical in relation to the truck etc.
which is why it would’ve been easier if I just ordered it from the beginning that way from @WarFab Armor for peace of mind knowing it was properly and professionally installed

something you may need if you plan to go archive hammer hangers to improve rear ride and strength. Their cross tube blocks factory spare location making you need to relocate it elsewhere.

and it has tree savers for side protection that certain other bumpers don’t.

the tubing is pretty useful to grab onto. Like if you have you jounce the suspension. Pull yourself under the truck. Pull yourself back up out from underneath it. Step on top of it etc

I want to go back in and reinstall/reposition mine with the bolts holding it on. I need to figure out if there is an ideal position or if it doesn’t matter. I already made rough bedside cuts and am not too worried about looks.
More for strength and load bearing/recovery/towing/etc
Like if I should loosen the bolts and let it hang down then tighten, or push up on it and then tighten. In terms of any wiggle room.

with my sliders I put two jacks pushing up before tightening. To get the support metal angles as close hugging the frame as possible.

heard a case where someone did the opposite to stop rattle noise, loosening sliders to let hang from gravity then tighten. But that could increase the gap. Mine don’t seem to rattle.
And slider instructions generally say push up on them with a jack not let it hang

Installed a smoked LED third brake light. Stock one was getting pretty ugly with sun damage. Also replaced my AC blower fan. The cheap one I got off Amazon is a little noisier at full blast, but the rattle is gone and it blows good and hard.6C5CB6A8-D0B7-42CD-94B8-0D5D05643D45.jpg

wheels should be here in PR tomorrow, then it’s time to get serious about ordering a bumper and some lighting. Need to research how to have a light bar wired to both a switch and the high beams. Also looking at fly rod storage for the rack. This is getting expensive

A few things arrived this weekend: dog cover for rear seat, Husky Weatherbeaters, and a bottle of Car Guys Plastic Restorer that I used on all the exterior plastic (works great, we’ll see how it holds up).

Good career choice! My son in law and two other young men came here from Everett, WA during the pandemic pause 2020 as they were all accepted in Kootenai Health's paramedic internship program. All three have since become employed in that occupation back on the west side of WA. One of friends at First Presbyterian Church Coeur d'Alene is a fire chief with Kootenai County Fire & Rescue and told me there is a great demand for paramedics everywhere. Best wishes for his bright future!

Finally washed my truck, that revealed a lot of scratches and dings that I need to fix. Wish I had time to clay bar and polish it today but oh well. Also installed this 3d printed piece to cover the last bit of silver in my cab, can't remember who shared the link to it but thanks!!
Hopefully buying new wheels (SCS F5) and new tires (285/70r/17 Duratrac wranglers in a c load if I can find them) soon. Should be a total weight savings of 14 pounds per wheel/tire.
