    Lucha Libre is not too far from downtown and one of my favorite spots as well.

    By not too far I mean a couple minutes driving north once you're on the freeway.

    Lolita's by the ballpark is one of the better taco shops. It's the same family that started Roberto's. Anything carne asada is solid and their beans and salsas are made there every day.

    I second Las Cuatro Milpas in Barrio Logan. It isn't too far from downtown. It's more along the lines of homemade cooking rather than a taco shop. Their hours are weird and the lines can get long so plan accordingly.
