No the spacer is there 100%, its just sitting way further back against the gates idler. If you look at the two #1 idler pulleys (OE & gates), the gates doesn't seem to have a double bearing like the OE. So that bearing is shallower and is more recessed in the pulley housing. This difference doesn't let the supercharger idler sit where it needs to to align with the crank pulley. Make sense ? Look at how deep the bearing face sits in on the gates pulley

The OE idler doesn't have a double bearing either from what I remember. It's just one. There should be some kind of collar that the OE pulley takes as well. You're going to need to take some more photos of the OE pulley vs. the gates one if it really is indeed lacking the width that you say it is.

Did you put the spacer back in? It sure doesn't seem like it.

The spacer is there, trust me, just the angle of the picture makes it hard to see. If it wasn't there, the two pulleys would be touching. I quadruple checked this by going back and forth between the OE and gates pulleys and checking alignment but it just doesn't line up right with the gates pulley since the bearing face where the spacer sits on is further back.

This gates pulley also comes with its own bolt, which I'm assuming is a shorter bolt to account for a less wide of a bearing. But with the supercharger kit you run the long stud in place of that bolt to sandwich both pulleys (#1 Idler & SC Idler).

I threw the stock one back on for now, I’m going to order an oe one in the morning. When I re do this I post better pics comparing the two.

Is anyone on here running the #1 gates idler with the supercharger kit ?

    Okay just making sure.

The bolt that comes with the pulley is assuming you are running NA.

I'm going to need to see more photos of the setup to figure out what the real issue here is.

Worst comes to worst you can always just steal the bearing from the Gates pulley, trash the pulley itself and press it into the old setup.

VERY interesting! It never seemed like that was the case.

You may need to go a different route here if that's the case and return the pulley. Check with Dayco as they make the majority of pulleys for Toyota.

You're missing some parts. I just did it today. There is a grommet washer from behind that centers the idler bearing on the bolt shank (gates should have included this grommet if the stock bearing is exact fit for the bolt size). Then on the front if your stock one has it, should be a step washer (if it's missing, I tried test fitting the s/c idler and seems like it would work without). I was planning to remove the step washer but in the end kept it and it compressed and the idler lined up with the crank quite nicely.

haven't got around to it but that one def is one of the top of mind besides the mounts for me. If we could figure out a way to tap in an A/C trigger that would be killer.

I agree because I don't like how you can't run the AC immediately or even how you got to wait until it's up to a certain temperature (ie higher fan speed) to avoid hearing the line pressure cook up so high that the AC high pressure switch cuts off the system. That is a little unnerving.

how about a separate e-fan and controller just for the condenser?

You would have to run dual fans similar to the older Camaros, basically nullifying the entire point and spendature of the ZR1 Corvette Efan.

I'm thinking of just a basic aux fan on the condenser itself, much in the way of the 3rd gen A/C TSB

You mean one of those pusher fans?

The gates pulley I tried to install did have that grommet washer and step washer included, but looking at your pic that pulley looks different from the one I have.. I wonder if I got the wrong one

IIRC the o-ring gasket for the intake to s/c surface is on the intake manifold right?? has anyone changed theirs? im considering it as i seem to have an intake leak....i think.

That one looks like the 36713 gates idler for the upper one. The lower idler bearing is more shallow. Maybe they mixed up the bearing and parts as others had suggested.
