I used the term "torque" loosely for describing how much strength it will take to remove it.

When I put the new filter and tighten the oil filter housing, that is where hand tighten procedures would normally take place.

In this instance, I'll refer to the owner's manual for how much turn is required once the filter housing makes contact with the engine area. (Usually a slight turn 1/8-1/4 like you mention)

I saw the teeth on my 3mirrors which can cause the damage described. Hopefully, I don't have to use too much twisting force to release the housing unit.

Another easy mark/fish/rube/hayseed/bumpkin sold overly frequent oil changes as "cheap insurance" when the dealership is really suggesting them so they can oversell other services. Severe duty my ass. Another sales tool for the gullible. All to benefit the dealer.
But... I would change early for the first oil change. After that, as per the manual.

Whoa the manual recommendations are not a one size fits all requirement. Depends on location, season and operating conditions and the type of oil being used. I worked as an aircraft mechanic for 32 years and we used the Boeing manuals as a guide but the airline had their own standards which eclipsed those set by Boeing and Rolls Royce or Pratt Whitney or General Electric. Blind adherence to minimum standards leaves gaps in maintenance.

As a cheat somewhere in between going for a number instead of overdoing it I’ve changed the filter and put in a quart of fresh oil to postpone a full change. Take a break on the name calling too

Many of the Ducati V-Twin engines have inverted oil filters located at the bottom.
