Well, that's a variation on "polishing a turd"....

 

Hey, I rattle-canned the right rear fender on my wife's 1990 Corolla back in the day. Sanded it out, masked it off, primed, painted, and cleared it. When I finished with the polishing compound you literally couldn't tell where the paint had been scraped off.

$35 in paint (in 1999).

A roof would just take longer, and probably requires a ladder.

Sent pics and info to Toyota of Cedar Park. Was told they wouldn't repair unless it was dripping. Checked torque - all were good. So I guess I will also be a seeper.

There is a TSB for 2016-2017 Tacomas... I assume they are waiting for enough 2020 owners to complain.

 

Repairing it yourself is simple and a $10 tube of green gear fluid RTV will outlast the Toyota paper gaskets.

 

Is the 20 a different brake light? Why is the recall only for 16-17? Or was something changed about the gasket on 18+?
Toyota CP changed mine with no questions, but it's a 17. So already know why if the recall is 16-17.
