Truck Camping Photo Thread

Luckily its got lots of ventilation! We picked it up when we had a baby. Changing diapers in a RTT sucks. This has a ledge that overhangs the cab, perfect changing table. We bolted some frontrunner boxes to the roof rack, just reach out the window and stuff those poopy things in there.

 

We loved our AT Habitat... but it really wasn't great for COLD and WET camping trips up in the PNW.

Now we've moved on to the Scout Yoho. The fireplace keeps it pretty toasty!

Spent one night out in Joshua Tree...very busy campground later in the day and into the night.

 

Not yet! Will update you all if I experience it in the rain. Already have another campsite booked in a few weeks

 

I know someone who may be going to the NMW on 4/6 or 4/7 for a couple of nights if you feel like a shake down trip is needed.

 

Very, Very cool you are family camping. It's something I wish I had done more of...
now it's just my spouse of 44 years and our GSD "Santino". I swear my wife only agreed to the RV so she could take her dog traveling while I do the driving.

At 44 years one learns to say "Yes Dear" And: "You can do any G.D. thing you want!" I can't complain, I also get to take the RV when I camp with my buddies for a few days of Brats, Beer and Ammo out by Scissors Crossing below Julian Ca. "Man Camp"

 

Someone once told me "Happy wife, happy life." followed by "You can be right, or you can be happy". Fortunately my wife is on board and supportive of most of my shenanigans.

 

How do you like the ENO Roadie stands? I've been trying to find a used set for awhile and will probably end up just making my own...

They got me through that nasty rock solid icy left over snow! 4 Trax will get you anywhere, albeit slowly!

 

That's a good looking tent! What I decided is to leave the ladder at home. I use an ironman 4x4 box on the tailgate to step on and get into the tent. Makes it easier to hoist the dogs in there. I'm waiting on the frontrunner boxes for the ground steps.

Also check the corners to make sure the weather strip is flush. I reached out to them and learned the latches are adjustable and that sorted that out for me. Their CS is pretty awesome.

this might sound ghetto but anyone think of making some boards themselves? the price on these quality recovery boards are pretty dam steep tho im sure they are worth it.

i wonder how well some tire tred attatched to plywood would work.. could stud it out for more traction?

 

Good to know, Im going to reach out to them at some point to get a 2nd set of ladder mounts so I can go either the drivers side or the back depending on how Im camped.

I did have to tighten my latches down a bit to get a complete seal on the bulb gasket. Do you have any idea what the rubber gasket / filler strip looking stuff is for? The stuff that was shipped inside the tent?

 

They told me they insert into the cross bars that mount atop it. I have not mounted them and likely wont
