I put a kicker hideaway 8" under my drivers seat. It's not much of a shaker but it's enough for me.

Rockford 8 inch sub and amp combo fits perfectly fine. I added some dark foam around the box. Added some 2 way dash speakers/tweeter and it is perfect for me. Looks great and has plenty of punch and super clean and clear.

Did you use any other wiring other than what came with the sub? Extra harness?

Ok, I was curious how it was wired to the stock stereo and if any certain “plug and play” adaptor was used. Im looking for an easy no cut way to put a sub in.

thats very cool! So you’re just running factory speakers with factory head unit and the sub? If you only do anything else, replace the factory tweeters. That alone makes a HUUUUUGE difference!
Does the sub overpower the factory speakers?
i just replaced all my factory speakers with the Kickers but plan on adding a small amp and a shallow powered sub under one seat

It was all plug and play, I don't know how they wired it but it was pretty simple for them. No exposed wires, no issues, factory look, all neatly done. I just didn't want to screw anything up.

Yea man everything else is stock, and no the sub doesn’t over power the stock system. It does slightly on some bass tuned songs but that’s maybe 1 out of every 100 songs and I can tweak the level with my knob.

I thought about doing the tweeters I’ve heard it was worth the upgrade. I’m currently on a mission to blow my stocks speakers. I can’t friggen kill them! These Toyota factory speakers are bulletproof. When they do go I’ll replace the whole set.

You have pics of the sub? Is it mounted to the floor or just stashed underneath? Do you have the power driver's seat? Thanks.

the oem speakers do sound much better than you would think by looking at them and holding them. But the tweeters, my God they suck. And to swap them out takes all of 5 minutes at most each. Plug n play. Just take my advice and buy the Kickers. For $100 the sound difference will amaze you.

I suggest a two way speaker/ tweeter so you get more sound and not just the highs from the tweeters. I used the Rockfords in the dash and the sub/amp combo behind the pass side rear seat. Its a great inexpensive set up.

Did you have to remove the heat ducts ? I'm wanting to put one under my passenger seat but the width of the rails measure super tight. Did you mount long dimension of sun facing front to back or side to side ?

The front of the sub faces the front of the seat. No heat ducts were removed.

This one fits nicely behind the left rear seat. The plastic seat backing needs to be removed and you can’t fold the seat all the way down after install. Only issue is that if someone sits in that spot, the woofer can hit the foam seat back and sound crappy. Otherwise it fits perfectly and bolts into the factory bolt holes after removing the plastic storage compartment. From TT

No but look at the Rockford 8 inch sub and amp combo. It fits perfectly fine with no modifications at all. Mine fit great, doesn't move around, looks better in person and hits hard, while being super clear. It's a nice touch and worked well for me as I just wanted a little more thump and that it does.
