I had to get away from 'reality' for a little while. Drove from Brandon, FL area to Herky Huffman WMA. Was pretty cool, I found out at the entrance gate that Turkey season is in full swing and two guys were checking out with the gatekeeper on his catch. No pics of his bird, but it was a big one. So after chatting with the ranger/gatekeeper, he was a volunteer actually in civilian attire, I took off through the area following the orange highlighted dirt stone trail. The red highlighted trails were closed by cables to keep vehicles out during hunting season and those areas offered the only opportunity for 'off roading'. Cables are down in those areas during January 3rd to March 6th when hunting season is closed. Yeap I heard a few shots out there while I was making my way around the loop. :burnrubber: I just kept moving. I did spot a turkey hanging out near the road, he crossed in front of me then walked into the scrub. I think he lost his partner and was just wandering round a bit.

I give this area a 1 out of 10. Don't make this your destination for trail riding, but if you want to hunt or fish, then by all means give it a go!

    Yeah
Trail damage. Jeep buddy used a strap on his axle to a steel shackle to my recovery rope. Axle ended up cutting the strap on about the 300th hit and sent the shackle and my rope into the back of my truck. Huge dent right in the corner from the shackle and the recoiling rope took out the glass.

Looks awesome. My mom lives out that way (in Hereford), and I've been looking for some good trails to hit next time I come visit. A few years ago, I ran up and over the Huachuca Mountains from Hereford all the way to Nogales. Checked out a cool little town called Lochiel along that route.

Looks like you have a few more mods but a 1.5" lift with 5100s is next on my list followed by 1" larger tires for 2" total. Both for a little extra insurance and confidence on tougher sections, although I plan to stick to easy to mid-moderate trails and might be OK leaving in stock form. I don

Did a trip to the Gonzaga Bay area of Baja. Checked out Mission Calamajue , La Turquesa mine and the road to Mission Santa Maria. No photos from the latter as I was too busy biting my nails. After 15 miles I turned around with the destination in sight. The trail was just too brutal and we were alone with the sun dropping. The Santa Maria one will stay on the ole bucket list for a bit. Truck was tortured, but did awesome. IMG_20220324_205954_522.jpg IMG_20220324_211222_387.jpg
