    2012 TRD 4X4 Access Cab
Unfortunately I am one of those who bought a SR5 thinking it was a TRD Off Road. It had the TRD Off Road badging. I had looked several months for a 4x4 Access Cab and pounced on the truck when I found it. I don’t believe the dealer promoted it as a TRD and nothing in the sales agreement stated it was. Best thing was I really liked the truck. But I continued looking for a TRD and found one in Texas. You know I thoroughly went over that truck before buying. So now I have a 2013 SR5 and a 2012 TRD. The SR5 is up for sale with the TRD badging but I have made it very clear it is a SR5 and NOT a TRD.
The TRD also has sport seats.
First pictures are the TRD after I put black badging and the third generation TRD wheels/tires on it. Third picture is the 2013 SR5.

    This.

Taco in OP absolutely can NOT be a TRD OR.

Its simply an SR5 with the "alloy wheel package" which is the TRD OR wheels. Good looking truck tho.

I was always curious... do all Offroads have SR5 on the tailgate?

If I remember correctly, the first couple years of second gens could be both SR5 and TRD. At that point SR5 was the trim level and the TRD (either off road or sport) was an add on package. I'm not sure what year it changed to the TRD being actual trim levels. I may be mistaken.

The same shit everyone else has.
Early trucks had both badging. Seems like all the truck with the halogen rails have SR5 badges.

    Bingo.

2012 DCSB V6 4x4; Appears to be a base model, and according to Carfax it was involved in a front end collision with airbag deployment. It is not listed as having a rebuilt/salvage title and it has been on the road for over six years following that accident, so I'm assuming the damage either was not severe enough to total it and/or the owner just paid out of pocket to fix the truck; The truck has had three owners, and this accident occurred under the second owner, so it's possible that the current owner doesn't even know about it...

Anyway, the truck appears to be under construction as it does not have fender flares on the front, but it is in excellent shape otherwise; According to Carfax, the truck was serviced the day before I took these pictures and it had just under 126K miles!

My 2013 OR does not have SR5 on the tailgate - only the V6

The VIN decoder lists it as BASE [not SR5] and then the OR package etc..

It seems like there are lots of variations by year for the trim etc. and it took me a bit to sort it all out to find what I needed.

I used the VIN decoder religiously when shopping b/c I wanted a MT and the autotrader listings are not always the best for finding a MT - they often get mis/listed as AT - you gotta really hunt for a MT these days.

On my original 2007 widow sticker the only place "SR5" is mentioned is under standard equipment... the front bucket seats have "SR5" fabric trim.... they got replaced with sport seats with the TRD package. It says the total price of truck with optional equipment was $32,054.00 and estimated annual fuel cost would be $2,091.

I thought so; Also, is there any way to turn a 5-lug rear diff into a locker?

    @Speedytech7

It would appear that 1993-1997 Land Cruiser buyers aren't the only victims of "diff locker fraud"!

I honestly did not know this; What I'm wondering is why it took until Gen 3 for the DCLB to get the TRD OR package?!?!

You don't have to pay for it - but you have to make a Toyota account which I found annoying; especially since you could just run them before they 'updated' their site or whatever..

That's practically my same exact truck

Before my 2015 I had a 2011 TRD OR access cab/long bed with 6 sp manual. Pretty rare come to find out, wish I'd kept it. It actually had cloth on the interior door panels. Factory tinted headlights like a PRO, dope truck

    don't forget
    - 17" 5 spoke alloys
    - painted grill surround
    - Bilsteins
    - Nicer seats and interior

But you probably already knew that

Last time was Kauai in July 2009, for my cousin's wedding; I took a lot of pictures of vehicles, but I didn't have a Tacoma or even a driver's license then...
