I have a 2020 SR5 with a Ruggedliner hard tonneau cover. I have a bunch of small dents [believe it or not from dropped acorns - I witnessed it myself]. Any suggestions on how to raise / repair them? I tried a hairdryer but don't think it's enough heat. Afraid to try a heat gun as I worried it might melt the plastic and make it worse. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

Following....I have a Bakflip G2 with some hail dents. Fortunately it didn't dent the truck metal, just the tonneau cover.

Hello Rick, the panels are made of aluminum. Check out ruggedliner.com for the way they make them.

Wow ... those acorns must be super strong. Are you sure it's not hail. As far as I know, that kind of dent is very hard to fix. That's why most insurance companies automatically total vehicles with hail damage.

Ruggedliner had no answers for me. They didn't even try. They just said "we don't have a solution for that." Idiots.

It was parked under high trees and there was no hail in the weather then. And no damage to the truck body, just random dents in the tonneau. I was literally was present and witnessed at least one acorn drop. F'in squirrels.

The surface is not smooth [see pic]. Do you think it will still work on that?

That's a bummer. Let's try 5nahaif's suggestion. Each dent doesn't look that wide though. It won't be easy to pull it out

Wow, it's dented everywhere. Unfortunately not much you can do with aluminum. Park elsewhere I guess?

No problem, it uses hot glue to stick to the surface. Just be advised you can over pull the dent. Once you got it how you want it heat up the glue with a heat gun to pull off the stud that it glues down. Then you can peal the glue off by hand.

The glue it comes with is very strong, so if you pull too hard or dont take the stud off with a heat gun you will rip the metal or bend it even worse.

Random side note, my friend Leonard is a trauma surgeon and used a similar heat-responsive temporary adhesive to pull an empty pickle jar out of a dude's asshole one time.

The bottom of the jar was sticking out of the guy's ass and they needed a way to pull it out without it shattering so he used that stuff to glue a plastic handle to the bottom and slowly pull it out while a nurse kept the whole thing lubricated.

Pro tip: never ask a surgeon what he did at work today.

I worked EMS in NJ for 20 years. You would be amazed at what people put up there.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Don't blame the squirrels - oak trees drop acorns on their own without the squirrels' help. Have one in my back yard - walking underneath it is almost like walking on marbles.
Here's a thought - park under the tree consistently and you'll have a pattern on the cover no one else could match. Tell everyone it's a new factory finish.
