This is yesterday running into a 20 mph crab wind coming from the left front. First half is doing around 60, second half of the cruise set at 70. At 60 it stayed mostly in 4th and at 70 it was going back and forth between 3rd & 4th.

I admit I like the leather door wrap looks good and center console . Not a fan of the wood grain panels or seat covers .

OK, I accept that. I would actually personally like to get rid of the wood grain myself, and have the dash covered in the same faux leather as the door panels. The same guy who did the panels also can do the dash, and he does it all the time on other classic cars/trucks. I mean, he takes out the whole windshield, and then completely removes the dash, and then installs the faux leather before putting it all back together again. While I know he would do a good job, two things have kept me from doing it; one, that I would have to do without my truck for about a week, and two, that I can't bear the thought of my dash being completely taken out like that! As for the seat covers, they beat the heck out of the OEM ugly dark charcoal seats that came with the truck!

Ive been getting combined 18mpg city and highway while on my commutes to work

I recently did a longer drive on the interstate to pick up a diamondback cover and was getting about 22. Funny how this got me excited. A whole 4 mpg

18.5 on average. I can get low 20s if I try real hard, but I don’t.

Just did nice trip to Texas to watch some softball, visit friends and work on my trailer. No wind, did about 16-17.5mpg, with wind about 12-13mpg and the wind was strong, 15-25 mph.
For those who just keep it floored or pulling a trailer, mine trailer weighs in around 1500lbs, something to watch for is transmission temps. I have a scan gauge so I can keep an eye on the torque converter temps. Doing 70-75 mph headed into a 15-20 mph wind on I20 west of Abilene the transmission like 3rd & 4th gears. In 3rd gear the torque converter temps got up to 234°, but if I slowed down, 65 mph to get it mostly in 4 gear they would drop to around 190. This section of gas, got me 11.5 mpg.
In 5 gear at around 65 the higher temps could happen when the rpm’s where just about 2000rpms, guess the torque converter was lock, at 1800 rpm’s, the temps drop to around 190. Just a heads up.

I average 17-18 mpg on usual commuting, and can squeeze out 19-20 mpg on freeway trips if I take it easy.

We took a 90 mile Road Trip (each way) last weekend in the 2022 4 door TRD Sport 4x4, V6, truck is all stock except for the Truxsport tonneau cover, Had aprox 900 miles before trip.
Drove Mostly 2 lane roads, went thru a few small towns, most of the time 55-60 mph. On way we averaged 23.9mpg and on way back 24.9 mpg. Driving to work on 2 lane roads with some morning traffic.. I average 19 to 21, depends on traffic. Roads here are pretty flat with some small hills.. I am getting better fuel millage than I thought I would get..I do not do the Jack Rabbit starts so that helps..

    Stock-ish
Gotta pin that trans tstat so the trans doesn't start off at 190 degrees  With my truck on 35s/stock gears/bigger trans cooler, trans temps are usually 100 degrees over ambient temp. Can maybe get them up to 190-200 if Im floored uphill.

Gas mileage wise, getting 13-14 daily driving on my 10 mile work commute. Highway driving I can get it up to 18 or so if I try/drive the speed limit.

Thanks. I ordered it off of CarId.com. They have a specific page for Tacomas and there are many different choices for the wood. I actually thought the wood was going to be a little lighter in color, but once I received it, I ended up liking it. It is real wood, and custom ordered. It takes about a month or so for them to get good wood in, then laser cut it for exact fit, before they ship it out to you. I actually ended up taking a couple of the pieces off after the video was posted, such as the trim around the CD. But most of it is still there. I cannot remember the cost, but I seem to recall that it was around $200, give or take.
