I think mine was $50 or maybe a little more (SB). But right after I got it, I saw one cheaper.
    :angrygirl:

Yea, I take mine out just because of this when I take our trash to the dump. It's dripping sometimes and I have to remove it to clean under it anyway. Plus the bags slide better on the composite. Oh, I also drilled my drain holes out larger to help the dirt escape. A little mod @boogie3478 published on his YT channel that I thought was really smart. He did it to keep the bed from filling in the rain. Or filling and freezing in the winter.

    Edited... ordered

@CttAznRanger FWIW, I have had a horse stall mat in the back since... week 1 or 2. Weighs in at 106lbs... was nice having tye extra weight during winter. Definitely an improvement over the plastic floor.

Kinda stalled. The only way I can see to convert, is the units with a cable actuator for the latches. HOWEVER, I need to dig a little more.

The skirt is a trim or design feature that causes the cap to wrap down, and high the bed rail caps.

Got an ARE CX.... and of course a week later, one the correct black, and with the power locks, etc shows up. But, I'm good. We live in the woods, and the lock isn't a big deal.

    Thanks.

I think I remember there was a difference in the frame between gen 2 and 3. Trying to debate if it is worth snagging them, and making changes.. or just ordering the right ones...

I would only want it for convenience. I don't even lock mine unless I have to go into the city. I have a 1/2" cable lock on my spare in the bed. It would just be nice to have a single fob for everything. I feel like the device used to lock the tailgate could be used to push a pin, aka bolt, through two strike plates. One mounted on the door and another on the frame. Of course, there would be one on each side. All the wiring would be concealed in a chase to make it clean. At least that's my idea how to retrofit a cap, for the cheap like me, and use a single fob to unlock/lock everything.

I thought that's what the skirt was but never imagined that was an option. Crazy they can do that.

Nice. I like ARE. Mine is a MX. I had a Leer on my Tundra. It was equally as nice. The color match was damn near perfect. One of these days I might upgrade to color matched but, armor first.

Glad you got one regardless. Do what I do, never look back.......

I meant the crew @ explore overland.

Haven't reached out on the CL set... without being sure what I have to change, not worth my hassle.

Meh... my cap is the black from 2016, and the truck is midnight black metallic.

That could work, but, what if the battery is dead, or there is another failure of those actuators? No way to mechanically override them....

Yeah those look more like SOS. Good price though. Good price for those tail lights too if anyone needs a set.

Ok, you got me there. How about this then. Two actuators, mounted on both sides of the T handle, connected to the existing locking bars?

My locking bars are tight AF because I added a bulb seal to the door drip edge that shuts against the top of tailgate but they can (and have) been tweaked so the wifey can do it too.

How does the manufacturer do it I wonder?

Speaking of dead batts. Mine was straight up D E A D a couple of weeks ago. I checked the water, it was a little low, filled with tap, let it sit overnight and it was fine the next morning. Took it to the dealer because it's under warranty and they said 3 years was the average lifespan. No one there, not even a tech, knew you could add water so I had to question the whole 3 year thing. I've never had to replace a batt from a new vehicle in under 5 years.

I'll probably look for a new batt soon. :annoyed:
