    Hay all,

We had some rain last night, and this morning three was a whole bunch of water on my front passenger floor. I checked the cabin filter and the walls, but cannot find any moisture tracks?

A couple weeks ago, it was the drain ports on the sunroof that left some water around the cabin lights. I got that fixed, but I am not sure where to check now.

    Any ideas?

There is an active recall on the 3rd Brake Light.

You can check by entering your VIN here https://www.toyota.com/recall

I believe Toyota will fix your water damage and seal for free if the 3rd brake light is causing your issues.

Check under wiper cowl, see if drains are clear.

Have you had your windshield replaced? If so, could be an inferior install. I had this situation on another vehicle.

I would check those sunroof drains again just to be sure. After that, I would suspect the AC condensate drain might be the cause. I cannot see how the 3rd brake light leak would get all the way up to the front passenger floorboard area unless it was really coming in from back there.

Get inside the truck and have the wife water spray the truck with the hose while you inspect and look for the leak inside

There was a lot of debris on the top vents of the cowl on either side. I cleared those. Is there a particular way tp get under the cowl to fin the drains?

You need to remove wiper arms, and then cowl cover. There is drains under ther, each side

    Yep
Thanks. I figure its gotta be the cowl drain, likely considering how much debris gathers on top of it, or the AC condenser since it is only on the passenger side, and I think that is where the condenser drain is. I'll dig into it this weekend and report back.

    Thanks everybody !

I would also suggest checking the seals on your roof, where there are pre-drilled holes for a roof rack.

Not sure if you have a roof rack or not but when I removed my Prinsu, the holes didn’t get sealed properly and the water that entered through the holes always wound up on the passenger seat floor.

Even if you don’t have a roof rack, I suppose its possible the factory seal on those holes has failed.

What happens, drains get plugged and water sloshes/slashes over into air intake for heat/ac.

Interesting. I don't have a roof racks, never have. Would the holes be under those rubber liners that run down the cab?

It seems like it might be more rain related as I rarely run the AC and it rained pretty hard last night. The truck had not moved before the water appeared, as in, I don't think it was sloshing around so much as a drain recently clogged or a plug recently failed.

Yep, they are under the rubber strips that run along the roof. I also only had the water on the floor issue when it rained.

I’ve really only ever heard of those holes leaking when someone has a roof rack, or had one and then removed it…but anything is possible!
