You check your engine for vacuum leaks? It really sounds like you have one.

Do you have access to a smoke tester at a local shop? If you do that would be your best bet.

Do you have a mild RPM fluctuation to go with that misfire at idle by chance?

I get a slight misfire at idle but usually only when cold. I dont believe it fluctuates with rpm. Jessie is also running the rip packs I am considering going back to stock just to rule them out.

If it persists after the RIPP packs then I'm really afraid to even mention it but you may have a blown head gasket that occurs only when it's cold then seals up once everything expands up to temp. It can happen to any engine but it can happen a lot more to high mileage engines.

A cylinder leakage test may be the test for just to rule out gasket integrity.

One hose is for the vacuum brake booster, if you don't have that then it's a cap. The other port is for crank case ventilation.

If I have a bad head gasket its gonna show here real soon but idk I don’t think it’s that because I also noticed one bank afrs being weird like Jesse mentioned and I also had to do o2 sensors. Blackstone got my oil sample today so I should know in a few days if they find anything in the oil. I know that doesn’t rule out the head gasket completely but we’ll see. The truck is around 96k to 97k, I always let the motor warm up before I get into boost etc so I’d be a little disappointed if the hg died already. If stock coil packs don’t change it and oil test looks good I’ll do a cylinder leakage test.

That's a good plan of attack.

You don't have any coolant loss do you?

Nope, no coolant loss and she doesn’t burn any noticeable amount of oil on the dipstick yet.

At that sort of mileage I wouldn't expect that.

Definitely need more test data before we condemn anything. I don't like your symptoms, but there are definitely several tests we can do before you gotta test HG integrity.

no rpm fluctuation. dont even know if its a miss really. idles near perfectly. 75k miles. never give it heavy pedal until warm. ripp didnt help nor hurt after install. did notice the exhaust note is more peppy.

When I pull the supercharger off soon to do spark plugs, bearings, seals, cam gears, et al, I'm probably going to just JB Weld mine, sand it down and leave it uncoated.

And also see if there's somewhere I can bolt a mount/clamp to hold that heater hose away from the blower housing. Even after rotating the clamp I don't want it touching.

Should probably put a BIG NOTICE on page 1 in a **WARNING** section for those about to install to supplement the instructions.

Shitty pic.. and my little mirror is cracked. But it's there. Doesn't SEEM to be all the way through from what I can see and feel.. but very close. I was thinking the same thing if JB weld would do it.. glad you guys are on the same page. Looks like sending out my blower for a rebuild is going to happen sooner than later.. then at that point might as well do cam gears and stuff then too. I'm going to rotate the clamp and ziptie it away from the casting for now.

I just rechecked mine and originally thought I was good but the upper clamp was actually getting into the case a good bit… :annoyed:
