Was scrolling through my DM’s to clean em up and found when Rick went out of his way to wish me happy birthday. My birthday’s in 5 days, got some shit going on and made me smile. Rock on Rick

    Afternoon,
This is Ron Swank, the older brother of Rick. I want to say thanks so much for all the wonderful things I have read in the hundreds of posts. I had no clue he was such a big part of this Forum, not sure he knew that either. This has been a tough time for us, but seeing these posts, knowing he impacted so many people brings me some joy. Thanks again from his entire family who got to meet some of you at his service. I don't know any of you, but just know that you always have someone to reach out to in that darkest hour. PLEASE make that call, or text someone if you need to talk, I wish he did. Do it in the memory of Rick.............

    Thanks for chiming in Ron
Your family and Rick are in our thoughts and prayers. I had the pleasure of meeting up with your brother a handful of times either to buy something from him dirt cheap or pick something up and drop it off at his house for him. Somethings he paid top dollar for only to turn around and give them away. He was a true gentleman.

Prayers go out to his family. I bought some parts from him over the last few years. Always ended up BSing about our trucks for hours. What a great dude he was.

    Little bit of stuff.
My deepest condolences to Rick's family and all of us who called him a friend. I had the pleasure of enjoying Rick's company many times over the past few years, he was an extremely generous and kind man who went out of his way to help me out more than once. I miss him dearly. Rest Easy, friend.

Just as an aside, I met with Karen, Rick's (@Unchained 5150 )wife, on this past Saturday, And went through all of the stuff that He had in his garage related to his tacoma and took some things off of his truck and replaced them with OEM stuff (I was over their for 6 hours). I will be cataloging all of his tacoma mods and equipment and I will be creating a "Rick's memorial garage sale" thread and putting pictures of all of the items up for sale. All proceeds from these sales will be going to the family. There is A LOT of stuff so please bare with me. It is going to take time to catalog everything and put it up with pricing and what-not. I will post the link to the thread when it is up and running.

I've been reading all along in this thread but don't think I ever made a post. Today I setup a thread for another undercaoting event and searched for some pictures. Of course I found one Rick took of me doing his mint 3rd gen. I'm sure if I searched harder I'd find one of the second gen. I've known many that have lost the battle and some whom were close calls. I myself being one of them many years ago. I can't stress it enough, don't ever feel like you're all alone. Call the help line, call a friend, family member, anybody. You are loved and you are significant. RIP friend.

My condolences to Rick’s family. Losing a loved one is never easy but I hope your grief is comforted in some small way knowing how many “strangers” he touched. I was one of those as Rick supported my bracket making by purchasing one and I purchased several items from him. He always had a good eye for quality and I never questioned the condition of anything he was selling. With neither of us comfortable listing a price for the items he was selling an inevitable dance happened every time I expressed interest in something he listed. We would converse back and forth in a private conversation “negotiating” without ever actually naming a price, sometimes for more than a couple days before one of us broke down a floated an amount out there. He was just too nice, always juggling wanting to be generous with being reasonable. With Rick, generous always won out.
