I've never done it before, but it doesn't look too awful besides the prices of fittings and the tools to crimp and expand PEX

You are gonna have the same fun too, maybe not right away though seeing as how the place is new

I'm looking forward to doing work in the backyard.

I've built a wood deck before, but that was back in the military when I did it for my best friend's wife.

That's who I got my green thumb from.

With a bare, new yard to start with, it shouldn't be too hard figuring out what I want to do.

Turf is gonna be expensive though :annoyed:

Gonna do live turf or fake? I don't have a green thumb at all but my mom does and she wants to help get the front yard looking super nice. I just want something low maint haha, I don't mind trimming hedges or a ground cover but deadheading flowers and stuff is tedious and I'm not interested in the upkeep.

My badz, I saw that brass valve at the front bottom and thought it was the same pressure relief valve that's found on a water heater

Those heat pump units are super interesting, not common around here but sound like a good idea for people who don't have need of a lot of hot water fast.

    Meant to say artificial grass.

Higher initial cost, but cheaper in the long run considering no irrigation will be needed. No maintenance, so don't have to worry about owning a gas mower...and you saw how small the front lawn is. An electric mower will do quick work of the front.

The wife is huge into succulents, so I'll easily be able to tend to those. I'm talking about the larger agave plants too, not the cute little one's that live on a windowsill

Part of me wants to plant a citrus tree in the back; I miss having lemons and oranges just outside the house. I'm pretty sure I posted pics almost 2 years ago of all the lemon and orange trees I had at the old house...so I kind of want to plant one at least. And whatever else fills the voids in the yard.

Yeah actually it's kinda miserable, even the cold is what we would consider warm mix here, like what you'd wash your hands with

I'd absolutely trade my labor, but I need a MIG welder at home.

@Sperrunner hasn't brought me his yet, and my TIG work isn't worth selling

They run all their water heaters backwards there. Hot in, cold out.

Maaaaan, getting a minor has really been on my mind lately, it would fill up my schedule quite nicely next year and keep me busy….

But that could be a bad thing…
